We're not sure what wiseguy Nicholas (Little Nick) Corozzo said when he saw fellow Gambino mobster Alphonse Trucchio a couple weeks ago at the Bronx halfway house where Little Nick's been residing since June. But we're positive he didn't smile and say, "Nice to see you Al, hope all is well with you these days."

We're not sure what wiseguy Nicholas (Little Nick) Corozzo said when he saw fellow Gambino mobster AlphonseTrucchio a couple weeks ago at the Bronx halfway house where Little Nick's been residing since June. But we're positive he didn't smile and say, "Nice to see you Al, hope all is well with you these days."
If the 79-year-old Corozzo said anything, we're sure it wasn't nice. He may have asked the 42-year-old Trucchioabout his months-long stay "in the hole" at Ray Brook, the upstate NY federal prison near the Canadian border earlier this year. Or he might have asked him about his long, roundabout trip to the Bronx via the federal prison in Mendota, California where Trucchio stopped over for several weeks.
Corozzo got to the Creston Avenue facility after 11 years behind bars straight from the facility in Allenwood, PA, according to the Bureau of Prisons database. Knowing Little Nick, there's a good chance he didn't utter a word to Trucchio — just told him with his eyes to steer clear of him if he knew what was good for him. Trucchio got to the Bronx on August 7, after an eight year bid.
Gang Land wasn't there, and the lawyer who represented both men says otherwise, but there's little doubt that Little Nick let his brother wiseguy know that his actions toward Corozzo's brother Joseph were out of line when they were both charged in the same case in the FBI's Mafia Takedown Day arrests of 127 mob-connected defendants in 2011.
The internal wrangling between Trucchio and JoJoCorozzo flared up in court for all to see and hear following a pre-trial hearing in January of 2012. It happened when Corozzo's lawyer-son Joseph and Trucchio got into a shouting match. The dispute arose after Al's attorney suggested that JoJo, who had sought a delay while his appeal of the indictment on double jeopardy grounds was pending, proceed to trial along with Trucchio in the first of three scheduled trials in the 18 defendant case.
"Hey Al, so it's every man for himself now," said lawyer Corozzo as they all left the courtroom.
"Why don't you come here and say that to my face," Trucchio replied, barely turning his head to address Corozzo.
"So, I'm not a man now," Corozzo cracked, as the attorneys, prosecutors, agents, defendants and family members buzzed as they walked towards the elevators.
At the time, Corozzo downplayed the incident as a "minor disagreement as to trial strategy." The lawyer declined to discuss the matter with Gang Land this week.
Asked whether his two former clients were "getting along" in the halfway house, attorney Gerald McMahon told Gang Land that he "assume(d) that to be the case. I saw Mr. Trucchio last week, and he didn't mention Mr. Corozzo. I assume they're getting along just fine, otherwise he would have mentioned it."
Their temporary joint living situation will end by November 29, at the latest, when Little Nick Corozzo will max out of his 13 and a half year sentence. More than likely it'll end before that, since most halfway house stays end weeks, and sometimes months before the official date of release, to make space for newly discharged BOP inmates.
The BOP wouldn't talk to Gang Land about what it was that Trucchio did to get himself placed in Ray Brook's Segregated Housing Unit. It's also unclear whether it was the same alleged transgression that had him cooling his heels in California. Whatever the issue, he's nearing the homestretch: Trucchio's max-out day is February 23, 2020, the official end of his ten year prison term.
