How powerful were the bosses in America when compared to some of the richest and most powerful men during their time? Were they seen as ants compared to them or were they extremely respected amongst them? How did Luciano, Costello, Genovese, Lucchese, Gambino etc fare when compared to the most powerful men of their time(s)? Present day, I think the top businessmen and politicians would laugh at the top American mafia bosses but I have the suspiscion that might not have always been the case.

Jp Morgan could've paid of the national debt. Rothstein taught lucky and co. To dress and act the part of a businessman. Costello mingled with the week to do, but that was the only guy you heard doing that. Other guys had pals in movie business but not the men who built America.

JP Morgan has always been a great stock as well. Was the initial ultimate goal of the mob to become a J.P. Morgan like enterprise?
