'2001 Odyssey' was a disco in Bay Ridge. It's where they filmed the dance sequences in the movie Saturday Night Fever. It's now a Chinese restaurant, but it re-opened for one night (as a disco) in 2017 to mark the 40th anniversary of the movie's release. Does anyone know if this place was Mafia owned and operated?

While it was the 2001 Odyssey club, Sally Dogs, Bonanno and Colombo members taxed the drug dealers who passed coke in the place. The original owners were not involved, and decided to sell the club due to the many shady characters that were showing up. The police would hardly do any thing. Guys would get cuffed and the next week they were back at the club, so father and son decided to sell it.

Well, gays have a lot of expendable income and they like to party. Their whole scene is driven by the insatiable male sex drive, so things are never ending. Also, blackmail can possibly be used against VIPs and public figures in the spotlight (judges, politicians, married men, etc) who want to keep their queer-ness under wraps.
