I've read he was close with Demeo and members of the crew and when the contract went out on Roy, Gotti and Decicco specifically kept him in the dark about the contract ? Is that true? In murder machine, capeci said, when Demeo got killed, Gravano was immediately summoned to the White House, where, Castelllano was sat in his office holding up the Ny times with the headline about Demeo, just staring at him, as if to say " do you have a problem with this". Gravano just replied " if your not angry,then I'm not angry".

Were they close though? If you read Underboss he does mention how he thought Demeo was crazy after a conversation where Demeo randomly talked about how he could kill a table full of people at a diner before they even knew what was happening. Obviously they knew each other, but I never got the impression they were close or really worked together. Maybe I'm missing something.

I never heard of them being close tbh. The only story sammy talked about was his crew,gottis crew,and the demeo crew having a meeting with Paul and Paul told them that the cops were the real tough guys. Sammy said Roy told him "Paul should get the fuckin cops to do the hits if he loves them so much"

Looking through Underboss, it doesn't give me the impression Gravano was close to DeMeo except for that they were both "workhorse" crews. According to Gravano, Frank DeCicco got the contract to kill DeMeo and then told Gravano how and why it went down. That way, when Castellano questioned his feelings about it later with the newspaper article, Gravano would know the right thing to say.

I've always wondered one thing about these italian mobsters.. Im albanian , the albanian mafia is not like the Italian , in albanian mafia groups its always families actual blood ties, Brothers uncles nephews cousins. For an albanian its very very very difficult to have someone bossing them around and that does not exist amongst albanians IF not family ties thats another thing, then you listen to your brother uncle father for respect..

However,, ive always wondered how guys like Roy demeo and other psychos in the Italian mafia, how could they set with someone being a boss over them, pay percentage, obey rules and if they say you do that you do exactly that... I mean these guys seems like strong psycopathic men..

De Meo may have been physically strong, but he was mentally weak. He started falling apart at the seams as soon as he was under any kind of pressure, becoming a drug addicted hermit. There's a reason he was suspected of folding.

Truth is, whatever about the somewhat entrepreneurial guys like Federici or Parrello or Di Bernardo, some guys need people over them, like Nino Gaggi was to Roy, in order to save them from themselves.

Testa and Senter fell under the spell of another lunatic in Casso, and look at them now.

Testa and Senter were going to prison for life regardless of anything they did for the Luccheses...at the time they were working for the Luccheses the commission trial wasn't over and Gas wasn't even a Ub yet.


As for the Roy DeMeo drug thing, who has proof here. I read in Murder Machine he was against drugs but popped Valium like skittles and drank hard. Then other sources state he was a huge cocaine addict. What is the truth ?? Yes he was a pretty high up Coke dealer but that doesn't make him a user. According to Murder Machine he was probably selling a few pounds of coke a week. Montiglio said DeMeo was now moving multiple ounces at once making him a mid major street distributor.

the thing that i found the most interesting is if demeo
would flip, like think about it why would the feds would make a deal with a killer like him ?
paul was nervous because of him flipping maybe he would have flipped but i don't think the feds would want him out in the streets one day.

some how we got to get gravano to do a ama reddit. hes already been talking to capeci again ive noticed reading a column few weeks back. sammy needs some attention his reality tv show must not have made it. im sure he wants to blast the new gotti movie and the ane docs.
