Harry sounds like he was quite the character, so who knows just how many stories about his exploits are still floating around all these years later. Like you said, this would have been a very big deal. Also, I think Nick was only around for about 4 or 5 months during the war between them and then he got locked up on that derringer case. By the time he got out, Harry was locked up and the war was over.
