Does anyone know why since around 2006, queens and bronx factions in the Bonannos have rivaled each other? I read that after sal montagna was selected as the new boss in 2006, he carried a gun outta fear of bein whacked by the Bonanno’s bronx faction. Since then the bronx and queens have rivaled each so much to the point that an inner family war almost happened in 2015. (Allegedly) So back to my question why did this Bonanno queens- bronx beef all start?

This goes back to Vincent Basciano. Salvatore Montagna was accepted by the other crews as he was friendlier with them, so Vinny Gorgeous tapped him but the Bronx crew did not trust him, and was keeping tabs on him. There has been two acting capos since DeFilippo passed away, Tony and Zummo both in jail, the official Capo is either "The Nose" or "Louie Haha".

Johnny Joe is the official capo of that crew. His son runs the day to day.

I doubt johney joe is runnin the crew. He’s been locked up since 04 and at that time he was identified as a soldier. And his kid i believe is locked up.

Simply Because some are from Queens and Some are from Bronx.

You've named Damiano Zummo, but there is no evidence that he is Bronx-based at all. Who is the "Tony" you mentioned?

And regarding "The Nose" (Michael Mancuso), he is, as of 2015, the family's official boss. He was first named boss in Sep. 2012 and has since held on to that title. We know this for a fact and the feds have confirmed that he was behind John Palazzolo's promotion to acting boss and the near-miss of an "internecine family war" in 2015.

And regarding "Louie Haha." He is based in Brooklyn, and was part of the crew that Vinny TV took over. I don't think he has ever been linked to the Bronx.

Where did you get this misinformation, Giacomo?

You mean Vinny Gorgeous? Vinny TV is Bensonhurst capo Vincent Badalamenti, whilst Vinny Gorgeous is Bronx capo/acting boss Vincent Basciano. Confusing, I know.

Attanasio also owned a house in New Jersey, does that make him the Capo of New Jersey? No. He was raised in Westchester, and you can find evidence of him rubbing shoulders with Genovese and Lucchese members, he just happened to join the Bonanno Family when they were looking for members in the 1970's and him moving to Brooklyn. Just because one lives in one borough, does not mean they do not have soldiers in another borough. Tony Green had influence in the Bronx and Manhattan, but he is from East Meadows.

Are you telling me that the ******* across the street can't find the reports on Zumma from the late 1990's and early 2000's, nor the big one from the Lucchese wiretap about the Bonanno's making too many members and Zumma's name popped up?

On Patty from the Bronx. Officially he was not the Capo and Basciano was, then Sal the Iron Worker was, then Tony as acting but only identified as a soldier. Unofficially DeFilippo was seen as the Capo while Montagna was seen as the official acting boss.

Vinny Gorgeous is Bronx, Vinny T.V. is Brooklyn who still has a lot of power despite what some may say.

Have you got anything, whatsoever, to show that Louie haha was the Bronx crew's capo and was a Bronx-based mobster? Because you are the first person I have seen to link him to the Bronx. Not to mention the fact that, while he was capo (1984-Late 1996), there were various other capos in the Bronx which conflict with your information.
Before you ask what I have to link him to the Brooklyn/Bensonhurst crew, look no further:
Here's what the Bensonhurst crew looked like in 2002, courtesy of JD's website, right here. http://lcnbios.blogspot.com/2018/01/bonanno-family-2002-text.html - JD's credentials are legit, and is generally regarded as a goldmine for mob information which he receives from FBI files.

3. Peter 'Petey Rabbit' Calabrese (54y)
Acting: Vincent 'Vinny TV' Badalamenti (44y)

Soldiers
- Vincent 'Elmo' Amarante (47y)
- Baldassare 'Baldo' Amato (51y) (IP)
- Louis 'Louie Ha-Ha' Attanasio (58y) [Recently Demoted]
- Robert 'Bobby Ha-Ha' Attanasio (57y)
- Anthony Calabrese (34y)
- John 'Johnny Green' Faraci (80y)

Throughout the 1980s, Attanasio was involved in a Brooklyn numbers racket along with capos Gabe Infanti, Alfred 'Al Walker' Embarrato, Anthony 'T.G.' Graziano, and family underboss Joseph 'Big Joey' Massino. He operated "number holes" in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. https://scholar.google.co.nz/schola...anasio+infanti&hl=en&as_sdt=2006

Notice that none of these locations are in the Bronx.

Also, Cesare Bonventre was a Brooklyn-based capo (if you want proof on that one, I'll happily provide). Louie Attanasio, Peter Calabrese, and Bobby Attanasio murdered Bonventre in 1984, and Attanasio coincidentally became capo... You want me to believe he became capo over a Bronx crew after that?

Yes, that's exactly what I'm telling you. Prove me wrong.
Just naming things don't make them true, You actually have to back up your statements with fact.

And where was Anthony Frascone in all of this? Nicholas Pisciotti? Dominick Cicale?

And you haven't addressed the fact that Mikey Nose is the family's confirmed official boss, not a capo, or the fact Joseph Sabella was a Bronx capo.

Vinny TV was indicted as the acting boss. And Capeci later confirmed that Badalamenti was a "street boss" for Mancuso. So no.

I had a thread that discussed this on Black Hand. Truth is, we don’t quite know for sure, buts it possible that he maintained power even through his imprisonment in 2006 until today.
He wasn’t taking orders from Basciano when Basciano went in. This has been proven time and time again but some people are still certain that Basciano had sway in the family even when he was in America’s most high security prison (Ed Scarpo.)

I thought Basciano said something to the effect of, ” Mike robbed the family from me"... And Massino replied, " you did the same thing to me..."

Also, in one of those Massino books, Attanasio set up Bonaventre, and he sent word through, Vitale? I forget, but he sent word to Massino to ” go ahead and make me capo, before the crew kills me.." Or something like that. So I think he definitely was capo of the Bonaventre crew, which was Brooklyn....

Yep. Attanasio's always been Brooklyn based. As has his brother, Big Bobby, his friend and successor Peter Rabbit Calabrese.
Calabrese and Attanasio were not only partners in the Bonventre hit, when Louie Attanasio was indicted in 1988, Calabrese became an acting capo. It would be a huge coincidence if Attanasio was a Bronx capo and Calabrese, a Brooklyn guy and a close Attanasio associate, became an acting capo of a Brooklyn crew....
Also, Peter Calabrese's son Anthony is a prominent Bensonhurst soldier under Vinny TV. He served as the crew's acting capo for a time.
If you need even more proof, Vincent 'Elmo' Amarante is a prominent Brooklyn soldier, drug dealer, and ran bookmaking in Fort Greene, Red Hook, Coney Island, and East New York. By all accounts, a BROOKLYN soldier. A 1989 FBI report described Amarante as Louis Attanasio's "right hand man," and when Amarante later moved to Chicago and was arrested for running prostitution, George Quinlin of the New York State Organized Crime Task Force confirmed that he worked for Attanasio.

So, if Giacomo is to be believed, what we have here is a Bronx capo, who has never been linked to any Bronx activities. A person who, for some reason, really pushed to have a BROOKLYN capo (Cesare Bonventre) killed and, once he killed him, inexplicably became capo of a Bronx crew (according to Giacomo). He committed the hit with Brooklyn soldiers.
Apparently, he's also a Bronx capo who:
1. Ran loansharking with Brooklyn wiseguy Peter Calabrese, who would later take over Attanasio's crew.
2. Was heavily involved in a Brooklyn numbers racket with a whole lot of Brooklyn wiseguys.
3. Had a Brooklyn-based right-hand-man.
4. Was heavily involved in Brooklyn real estate and arrested for dodging taxes on those properties.
5. Was arrested in Brooklyn for loansharking in 1996
6. Was close to James 'Big Louie' Tartaglione, a Brooklyn capo.
7. Has never been linked in any substantive capacity with any Bronx wiseguys.

That’s quite possible. If mancuso has been boss since around 2005, then sal montagna must’ve been his street boss. Same with vinny badalamanti. And mancuso must have had an authorization on the anthony seccafico hit in 2009.

Where is it documented that Vincent 'Elmo' Amarante had bookmaking operations Fort Greene and East New York. I am just curious, not disagreeing. Very interesting that an Italian mobster still maintains ops in those two areas.
