I was watching the Mafia Cop documentary and I was wondering those two cops couldn’t of been the only ones who did those type of things.

If you get a chance check out the documentary "The Seven Five". These cops didn't have anything to do with the mafia but they were some of the dirtiest cops around back in the day.

This guy, Fred Pascente, was a Chicago cop who was friends with all the Grand Ave. guys.

If u or anyone is interested more in that particular story They were both on Comedian Nick DiPaolos podcast and gave lengthy interviews at separate times since they hate each other and disagree on what happened.. they were also on Artie Lange’s Artie Quitter podcast as well

Back to the op topic, so today what does everyone think is the number if any of dirty cops in say NY, NJ, Philly, Boston or Chicago connected to wiseguys? I know with all the scrutiny on LE and body cameras its pry very difficult for mobsters to recruit dirty cops, but money still talks so who knows. Anyone have any insight or an educated guess?

Today latinos or blacks can pay more that the mob and take a bribe by a small gang don't make so noise as take money by a wiseguy.

There was this Vietnamese club which was quite popular/ we're going back 20 yrs

Word was, the owner used to pay off the local sergeant or someone high up- on the condition that fights do not break out in the streets- causing a disturbance

That way, the local cops would turn a blind eye to all the trouble which was plentiful for that club. Eventually they had one too many murders and it lost its license

I've heard first hand accounts that when trouble was going to flare, the owner would literally lock the doors and let the two parties fight or kill each other

So unfortunetly for the losing party it was a death trap

Cops in the Boston area are dirty as hell. From low levels to who knows how high up. Shit, there was a crew of cops protecting cocaine shipments from Miami. They got caught and sentenced, but one of them had their sentence reduced by the feds. They look out for each other.

The Miami River Cops from the 80's was a VERY interesting case.

Watch any documentary on it... Not sure if they ever were connected to a cartel BUT assume they were only because NO cartel boss would allow anyone to continue to rob them and live....Especially dirty cops.

I believe a cartel rival was backing all the robberies.

One of the best examples was Richard Cain aka Scalzetti, one time Cook County chief investigator with electronic surveillance skills, alleged made member of the Outfit with direct contact to Sam Giancana, Willie Daddono, Pat Marcy and Gus Alex. He took a cut from many gambling operations, CIA/Outfit operations and also many burglary schemes which once included young John Monteleone. Cain was killed in 1973 on the Outfits orders.

During the early 1950s the Moretti brothers, who worked as Melrose Park policemen, might've been the most notorious corrupt officials at the time. For example, in 1951 Michael Moretti shot and killed two young teenagers and also wounded another one. Later he was sentenced to life. The most interesting brother was Salvatore Moretti, alleged Outfit member, close friend of Giancana and also member od Daddono's crew. Because of his brother's actions, in 1952 Salvatore was out of the force and in 1957 he was riddled with bullets because the investigators found some very incriminating papers on him with Giancanas name on it. The only brother who remained on the force longer than the rest was Vince Moretti, Mob associate who by the early 1960s also got out. The interesting info about this guy was that during the late 1970s he was the "mastermind" behind the breaking into Accardos home, which left many people dead including Vince himself.
