To say that it traumatized me would be an exaggeration. However, there's a scene or two in the movie Invasion of the Saucermen that scared the bejeezes out of me.

It creeped me out when the witch's feet curled under the house in the Wizard of Oz.

There's an Alfred Hitchcock episode about someone who was going around strangling nurses, made me sleep with my head under the covers for a week.

When I was 5 or 6, I actually felt such empathy for the sea monster in a movie, that I wept when the octopus sea monster was attacked to the point of dying a slow death at the end of the flick. frown

I will tell you a scene that traumatized my brother as a child. He saw Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein in 1948 for some reason it scared him smile I thought it was funny. He was always a punk any way. When he bought his first car some guy in the Bronx tried to squeeze more money out of him. He tells his younger brother me I told him I would go with him. We got it at the original price once the guy saw my friend my 45 automatic pointed at his head.

I am trying to remember a movie that got to me. But I can't remember any. As a kid I saw a thousand monster or sci fi movies I liked those kind of movies. The only movie that bothered me was Star Wars. I saw it with three of my kids. They bothered me so much I took them all home. Then took one kid to see it. Then I took another to see it. Then took her home and then took the last one to see it. So I went and saw the movie almost 4 times in one day. I had no urge tonevery see that movie or the squeals ever again. I just could not deal with all the kids at the same time.

Watching The Shining as a kid was scary. Also George Romeros Zombie Films had an effect on me.

When the head came out of the boat in Jaws creeped me out big time. Had nightmares.

That and when the shark bit the guy who was supervising Brody's kid & friends. All we see left after the shark got the guy was a bloodied leg falling to the bottom of the lagoon.

The other was in "Halloween." The scene where Michael Myers appears in the mirror when Jamie Lee Curtis is shutting a door.

Halloween. We always hear tales of the boogeyman, for me it felt real. It is still one of my favorite horror series. The first one, the suspense is the best. Rob Zombie did a good job on the remake, but not as good as John Carpenter's one.

That may be the same one I saw when I was six years old. "It Came From Beneath the Sea" about a giant octopus was in its original theater run and my (older) sister took me to see it. I really didn't remember much of the movie but there was one scene in which the octopus' giant tentacle reached out of the water and wrapped itself around the Golden Gate Bridge. That scared the shit out of me.

My second choice traumatized me in a more dramatic fashion. Again, I was six years old and I saw "Bambi" in the movie theater with my mother. The scene in which Bambi's mom was killed made me cry. How could they show little kids stuff like that?

I was 4 years old when the movie "A Christmas Story" came out and I remember being at the movie theater seeing it with my Dad and the scene where he sticks his tongue to that pole scared the crap out of me for some reason. Don't know why. I couldn't watch it. I love the movie now but still cringe when I see that scene.

I saw a movie called Mondo carne as a kid. A disgusting movie it did have the song More music in it. The music was nominated for an academy award but lost. Then someone put words and every great singer has sang that song. In the movie a shark ate a kid. So the natives went out in a boat and would catch sharks and stuff sea urchins down their throats and drop the shark back in the water to die a horrible pain full death. Similiar when animals got into Italian gardens and ate their tomato’s. Then you buy antifreeze and baloney they eat it and die a horrible death.

Thoughtful question. wink
When I was 9 or 10, I went by myself to a decrepit old movie house in my Brooklyn neighborhood to see "Son of Frankenstein" (1939). The scene when the monster appears in the little kid's bedroom absolutely paralyzed me--I had a real hard time getting to sleep after that.

Possibly the most creative, scariest, nauseating scene ever filmed is in John Carpenter's "The Thing" (1982), when Dr. Copper applies CPR to Norris and unleashes his head from his gut:

Holy shit, that “ The Thing” Scene is big time creepy.
Now I know why I would not remember that after seeing it.

Seen all above and all Super Creepy.

Don’t have one more than Exorcist that stood out but that was because My Mother constantly told us we could not watch it.... so what did we do as soon as wee could?

Creeped us out Big Time.

This one comes to mind. I watched this movie when I was 7 because I thought it was a kid's superhero flick in the vein of Batman.
