Smuggle - convey (someone or something) somewhere secretly and illicitly.

6,600lbs?.....Smuggle isn't the correct word to use.

How about, "6,600lbs. of cocaine DRIVEN right across the border protection guards."

When I see numbers like this I get VERY confused about the organizations in control here.

6600 pounds, to my eye it has to come direct from Colombia. Direct from the source, who else could guarantee, not just guarantee but who can AFFORD to send, or lose such a shipment but the guys farming it out the ground?

Like, you send out a shipment like that, either you have enough money to guarantee it gets through, meaning you bribe the whole world. Or you have access to so much coke you can simply just throw tons of the shit at the border, or docks, or airport or whatever and, like the guy said in that movie Traffic, some gets intercepted, most gets in. Like if 6600 got in, maybe they sent 12000, double the amount.

How does this work? Is it a Colombian cartel sending it, or a Mexican cartel based in South America arranging it, or Calabrians based in South America arranging it? From what I've read, ALL SEEM TO BE TRUE!!!

The Gambino arrest demonstrated this, Sicilian, Calabrian, and Mexican organizations working together with no problems.

Question, if the Mexicans were to move into Canada, what role would they occupy? Strictly suppliers? To whom? We know they work with street gangs, would they deal with Hell Angels before the Mafia? Would they deal with both?
Would they say fuck it, and set up their OWN distribution, as they already have ample supply.

The East coast, and Canadian markets have to be pretty attractive, seeing as how the cartels are warring for control of drug plazas in Mexico. They are starting to see the same problem as the 80s Colombians, see this excerpt.....

“THE COLOMBIANS also couldn’t stop. Their addiction wasn’t psychological. It was economic. The more successful we were in smuggling, the less money they made per kilo. That was the twist of it. We flooded the market with so much cocaine that by 1983 the wholesale price of a kilo kept dropping. It had gone from $50,000 in the late 1970s to as low as $6,000 a kilo at one point. That meant that to make the same amount of money in 1983 as they did in 1978, the Colombians had to move almost ten times as much coke”

The key takeaway being that the Mexican cartels have become so large, that strictly supply doesn't seem to be enough to keep em operational. They seem to NEED retail markets now because the per kilo value drops on the wholesale side.

Before they were able to stay above the street by just supplying, and never leaving Mexico. But the violence, if it's bad enough to force a drug lord OVER the border, well......

If Jalisco is intent on fighting a prolonged war, all this stuff, the conflicts, the political climate with the border and immigration, the Caribbean opening back up... It's going to be interesting...
