I have read Frank Cullota saying that it was Tony that had gone rogue and thought he could sleep with Lefty's wife and kill whoever, without Chicago's approval.

I also heard Tony's son Vincent claim that it was Michael who had fallen out of favor with Chicago's leaders and they whacked Tony also because, they knew he would retaliate.

I just learned that Michael had a brief run as an actor.

If Michae was the one who fell out of favor, does anyone know what he may have done? Did he botch a hit?

Knowing what I have heard, I think it was Tony that would be responsible for both their demise. Cullota seems to have worked close with Tony and has no reason to lie since becoming an informant....I think Vincent is just trying to preserve his father's tarnished legacy.

Anyone have anymore info on this?

Tony for sure. I think they just used Michael as a ruse to get Tony. Not saying that they weren't pissed at his brother but it was basically "kill two birds with one stone" sort of thing

According to the Family Secrets trial, it was Tony who ran afoul of mob rule. Michael was simply added to the list, being Tony's brother and the only other one who was seemingly apart of "the life". So they weren't taking any chances with him. Could be why they left Patrick alive, his relationship with other Outfit heavyweights of the time could possibly be a reason as well.

it was tony who was responsible, joey lombardo was the one who sent spilotro to las vegas, he started his own family there, which he didn't have permission to do, according to culotta's book, and others, his head really got big, and i think after reading about him and lefty rosenthal, they were in way over their heads, lefty rosenthal even had his own T.V. show, representing the outfit with a t,v, show?? later it was brought to light that lefty was giving information to the FBI, but it was spilotro that was bringing down the heat, and aiuppa had to put a stop to him, he just outlived his usefullness.

" watch what you say around this guy, he's got a big mouth" sam giancana to an outfit soldier about frank Sinatra. [ from the book "my way"

Victor spilotro was made in1988. John was also an associate. So they obviously didnt retaliate after the murders. Its always been ubckear to me why mike was included, other than stories that he was stepping on too many toes.

Who is Victor and John?

The only brother that I thought they had left was the dentist. The one where Joey Lombardo went before he got picked up.

I also find that odd that, a guy who potentially had sway over the death of your brothers is a patient.

Victor and john were tony's older bros. the only one in the family that wasnt a gangster was pat. Victor had a long criminal career including the murder of Helen Brach. John was part of tonys crew in vegas for a bit. Lombardo was alteady in jail by '86 and could do niothing to save them. If he was out at the time its quite possible he would have been flattened also for allowing the mess in vegas.
