Nicodemo Domenico "Little Nicky" Scarfo (March 8, 1929 – January 13, 2017) was a member of the American Mafia who eventually became the Boss of the Philadelphia crime family after the death of Angelo Bruno, the Docile Don, and Phil Testa. During his criminal career, Scarfo was described by some as psychotic, cruel and vicious. Those who knew him would later testify that Scarfo would mark a person for death for the slightest sign of disrespect. This was the case in the murder of Vincent Falcone who criticized cement work completed by a company Scarfo owned. Scarfo’s unhinged personality and volatile temper ultimately lead to his downfall as associates and made members of his family lined up to testify against him.
