Gets,

No additional information outside the 20K reward for information. It's truly a rarity in Jackson for this to happen. So far that im aware of the layout of the city, not many latino neighborhoods. Jackson is 78% Black with Whites making up the next majority. Latino population is probably just 5% or less.

In regards to Kingston Frazier i found out that the 27th homicide was the kid's uncle. He owned a Westside barbershop and was involved in community outreach activity. A gunman walk into his barbershop and shoots him then immediately walk out. Nothing is stolen.

F1,

I would consider Cartel operatives if they hired locals to due such a gruesome task. The head was found on a loop street , one way in & out, which mean someone had to see a vehicle pull up to that residdnts ( depending on time of course). So far i think the incident happened on Green Ave where the body was found. All that area i think is a predominantly Black neighborhood.

New Black Panther Party is holding a rally right now in downtown Jackson over Jeremy Johnson's death and a believed 'lynching' of another black man this past memorial day. The NBPP think the KKK is responsible for these incidents.

And I'm not saying it was a cartel that did the killing, just that it's a possibility not to be ruled out yet.

Indeed i was just noting it as least likely outcome bur still viable. I wondered when and why the recent regional setup in Jackson. The Gulf Coast is more closer travel wise.

Teens placed in handcuffs and detained for.....

.....SELLING water without a permit

Can't make this shit up.

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/national/article157987319.html

Quote:
These teens were selling water on the National Mall. Then they got handcuffed

By Donovan Harrell

dharrell@mcclatchydc.com

Tourists visiting the National Mall in Washington D.C. in the summer can expect to occasionally see people on the street lugging coolers around and selling water.

Three teenagers, ranging in age from 16 and 17, were allegedly attempting to do just that before being handcuffed by plainclothes police officers Thursday afternoon.

Tim Krepp, a tour guide, took photos of the incident, which happened near the Washington Monument and posted them on Twitter. The post has since been retweeted more than 12,000 times as of Friday evening.

— Tim Krepp (@timkrepp) June 22, 2017

Krepp got in heated debates on Twitter with various users throughout the day arguing the arrest was racist since the teens were African-American.

"My kids sell water and everyone smiles at them. These kids do it and get arrested. It IS racist," Krepp tweeted.

A spokeswoman for the U.S. Park Police Sgt. Anna Rose, told U.S. News & World Report that the teens were detained for “illegally selling water” without a permit, and believed the whole situation “has gotten blown out of proportion.”

"Vending on the National Mall is illegal without a permit," Rose told U.S. News & World Report. "The National Park Service has a whole office dedicated to permitting."

The teens were held until their parents arrived. They were let off with a warning, according to WJLA.

Some Washington D.C. elected officials were concerned about the arrests.

After getting reports of the incident, D.C. Council member Charles Allen, a Democrat, sent a letter to the U.S. Park Police Chief.

"I can't help but think how the reaction by these same officers might have varied if different children had set up a quaint hand-painted lemonade stand on the same spot. While still the same violation of selling a beverage without proper permits and licenses, I doubt we would have seen little girls in pigtails handcuffed on the ground,” the letter read.

Washington D.C. Rep. Eleanor Norton also weighed in on the incident Friday, saying she would ask the U.S. Park police to explain the arrest.

Believe it or not, it's not unusual. I think it's insane, but it's not race selective or racist. They're following the laws that legislators wrote. This is what Big Government nanny state laws get people.

F1,

There's a quote in the article I posted that made reference to lemon aid stands being legally shut down for no permit, the person who wrote the post also noted that NO way would girls in pigtails be handcuffed. He's a DC council member.

There is no mention of handcuffs or kids being detained in any of the links you put up.

It's ABSOLUTELY race selective that the Black teens were handcuffed and detained for this violation.

I sure hope those punks didn't get to sell any bottles of water to some kids. Or even worse than this, those bottles handed over to a group of chicks creating a scene with pouring it all over their nicely shaped bodies! It's just a matter of time before they would start using the water for their own car cleaning services which would surely lead to one or another car accident...

I'm just saying that for this and other petty violations, cops have discretion. I use the word cop almost in jest here because these guys on water seller crime detail are a joke to REAL cops.
They're making DC safe.....one water bottle at a time. smile

Anyway, police officers have operating guidelines and can use discretion. Handcuffing and detaining some teens who were innocently trying to make honest money is an abuse of power. I don't think that kids who look like the cops would have been dealt with that way.

Local entrepreneur heard about the 3 teens being handcuffed and reached out to their parents. His group is giving them IT training.

That's great that this wrong act is being used by others for good. Those teens showed entrepreneurial spirit and now that will be put to good use.

Meanwhile, look what else the NYPD is doing: http://www.newser.com/story/244983/nypd-...ampaign=rss_top

That's terrible what happened to those kids who weren't doing anything wrong. Cops can be real assholes.

When I was a young kid, my Grandma (who was visiting) and I went with my Dad to take some things to the dump. He didn't really know the area that well because we were only in California for about six months. So, unknowingly, he dumped the stuff in a PRIVATE dump area. All of a sudden this cop comes down the road lights on, siren. The cop asks my Dad what he's doing on this private road. And my Dad tells him he didn't know it was a private dump. Then, the cop puts my Dad in handcuffs. My Grandma starts getting out of the car yelling at the cop. The cop told her to get back into the car. I thought she was going to hit him with her pocketbook lol. I could see that my Dad was getting aggravated but had to keep his mouth shut because the cop hated his kind, a New Jersey/New Yorker moving into California. Finally, the cop took the cuffs off and let him go. But, it's something that I'll remember my entire life. My Dad had to go to court. He told this story a million times. He said that he told the judge he's "guilty with an explanation". He paid the fine. Back then if you had an east coast accent especially what I call a CITY accent like my parents have, native Californias dislike you. They think you have an attitude when it's not that at all. You only speak up for yourself. They don't like that.

Brea cops are the worst:(

Plane crash on 405 freeway: Video shows incredible rescue of pilot, passenger

Did you see that plane crash on the freeway? I'm so glad that both passengers were not killed. That would have been a nightmare at rush hour.
Kind of dumb that the pilot couldn't fly with only one engine. I thought you learn that in training.

Sorry to hear the story. When I read about your grandma's reaction...I see that you and her are cut from the same cloth.
Why the cuffs? Why didn't the cop just give your dad a warning or write him a ticket? Sirens? Cuffs? These cops have too much time on their hands.

Never heard about East Coast bias out in Cali, but nothing surprises me about police behavior. NJ cops are notorious for giving a hard time to people with NY plates though. smile

There should be some follow up in the DC story and at the very least there should be visible signs around telling what the laws and fines are for certain infractions.

In my personal opinion and hopefully many others as well I don't think cops should be allowed to put handcuffs on people who doesn't act violently, or actually just as little as even raise their voice against people until they know the person is not... dangerous. They should also treat people with respect.

It is an absolute horrible situation to be handcuffed for a few certain people, and no I'm not implying it is claustrophobia that I have which I'm guessing now only lasts until you're uncuffed and "free to go". I am an extremely sensitive person and take things very personal on top of that...

I really don't like criminals, I don't, but I despise cops more than anyone or anything else I ever will because they will always ignore your rights. All of this compared with that they are supposed to be good. They are the opposite.

And now my cousin has completed his study to become a police officer...

Gets, I can't understand why he would cuff him in front of his kid and mother. The whole situation was ridiculous. Even though it was traumatic for me to witness, I'm so glad that both my Grandma and I were there. I'm not sure what would have happened to my father if he went alone.

Yes, the native Californians back then listened to country music and were kind of like hickish. My father definitely did not fit in with those neighbors lol. If you sounded New Yorkish, then you'd be looked down upon. Remember most people didn't know much about New Jersey back then, you were a NYer. That was way before the Soprano's lol.

What I notice is that most police officers need much more training. If they had the proper training it would eliminate many of these instances.

Ya'll may have heard or read about New Jersey Governor Chris Christie recently closing to the public a couple of the state's beaches supposedly for budgetary reasons. However, he was photographed with his family relaxing on one of those closed beaches.

Well, that's not the whole story. Apparently some college kids who had not heard about the closing were on the beach. They noticed what they thought was a stranded whale on the beach and rushed to help it get back in the water. Alas, the whale turned out to be Chris Christie.
