Yeah i mean you guys have probably spoke bout this topic alot but i find it so weird that people never seem to get a full proof story on the guy, i mean he was low level but why didnt gravano ever bring up tommy d if gotti had a role in his death? Why has no one ever asked his two sisters about there brother? He had two one called phyliss and one names dolores...i find it weird that till this day the only story we have is hills version of tommys life and i think the guy fabricated alot of things so was tommy not really that big of a deal or did everyone forget about him quick, doesnt seem to be much on him...all the guys who flipped none of them have a concrete idea on what happened to him...i forget his name something coffee a agent or something said tommy was cut in half by gotti...he seems like a real insider as ive seen the coffee guy in many documentarys...it just bugs me how this character doesnt have a solid story behind him...i dont expect to learn where he was buried lol but id love to learn any solid info apart from the stuff weve all read...its the same with angelo sepe...nothing really on him...is it not a little weird? I get how some mobsters are low key but these guys where serious killers and seemed larger than life...has hills stories twisted the image of tommy as being something he wasnt and what happened to his sisters?

Gotti and Gravano didnt know one another when desimone was killed. They knew of each other but that was it.

Sal claims Foxy's sister was in the house when Desimone killed her brother and that she told Gotti what she saw but I'm guessing Gotti didn't want to hit him right away....either due to that or something else

You should read "SinatraClub" by Sal Polisi. A lot there about Tommy D and the whole story behind the murder of Foxie who was very close to Gotti. Also Al D'arcos book (see pmacs post) have some interesting chapters relating to the murder of Tommy D.

Gravano didn't know Gotti back then, they knew of each other. Al gives a good last sighting of Tommy, just like Henry Hill said. Tommy dressed up cause he thought he was going to be made. Informants after the incident, point the finger at Tommy Argo as his killer, since Argo killed Tommy's brother before. Argo even wish he could kill more DeSimones after Tommy disappeared.

the Sinatra club, was a god book, and it goes into why DeSimone was hit, not only did he whack billy batts, but when he killed foxy, gotti wanted him gone, and according to sal polisi author of sinatra club, gotti asked him if he wanted to be a part of killing him, polisi said no.

You know some federal agent must have asked gaspipe what happend to tommy just out of curiosity and im sure gaspipe no exactly what happend. Lil al wasnt made yet but i agree with his theory. Tommy went to bruno pizza shop dressed sharp and vario and bruno brought him to his execution. Letting gotti kill him would make them look weak vario and tony ducks wouldnt have let that happen. Sal polisi guy sounds nuts on tv.

Gaspipe and Vic Amuso was in Christy Tick Furnari's crew out of Dyker Heights?Bensonhurst while the other Brooklyn crew headed by Vario was based out of Canarsie/Flatlands/Queens. So by the time of Tommy D's death Gaspipe might of had hearsay knowledge he might not be "in the know" as one would think given his high ranking in the mid 80s. DeMeo was based in Canarsie flatlands and after his demise his main guys Testa and Senter and Profeta kind of drifted into the Lucchese crew taken over by Amuso/Casso, they might have drifted to Vario at this time but remember Hill flipped in the early 80s and Vario/Burke was on the ropes so Testa/Senter gravitated to the 19th hole Amuso/Casso faction at this time as Gaggi was facing tremendous heat and let the Lucchese Family take the remnants of the DeMeo crew at this time because he didn't need the headache and was fighting for his freedom at this time. Gaggi told Testa/Senter to take out DeMeo and they could go to the Lucchese faction and they executed that to a t. Gaggi released them to the 19th hole after that.

How come Henry Hill said Tommy was involved?

Henry Hill will say anything if he thinks it sounds good.Tommy was involved in the original plot to go in and stick up the place, but that plan was scrapped. After the strong room was built Tommy's involvment was limited to taking a girl to distract the Security guy while they copied his key. In the robbery part Hill just walked in with suitcases, loaded up the money and walked out. 60 grand was kicked up to Colombo Captain Buster Aloi, 60 grand to Paul Vario, and Jimmy kept most of all the rest,told Hill and the others he would keep the rest in a safe and give them money when needed. What are they gonna do? Argue with Jimmy Burke?

Theres a great article about the 78heist. Vincent asoros cousin goes step by step says he was the guy who pistoled whipped the security guard i forgot what he said simmone did. His cousin vinny and burke were in a car down the street watching the thing. He tells how they split the money the whole thing he got like 250k but got screwed out some extra he didnt get killed.

I found Gary Valenti's account intriguing. Skeptical at first as he was never mentioned at all in the thing to my knowledge. But after reading his account from the Asaro/Bonanno side he is surprisingly credible. Makes sense that Jimmy would include Vinny Asaro given his pedigree and that was his stomping grounds. Made sense that Vinny would put his cousin in the thing so he would be involved with the actual robbery and receive a nice cut.Also makes sense that Vinny got a three- quarter mill plus jewelry as a cut and kicked up the jewelry to his Capo Joey Massino as his cut while giving a small share to his cousin and keeping the lion's share of their cut to himself to gamble away and later telling Valenti that Jimmy fucked him. Burke didn't fuck Asaro, just an excuse to tell Valenti for glomming his cut. Jimmy was smart. Give Asaro three quarter mill and jewelry and let him kick up the ladder. Gave Paulie a million. Give the other guys enough to make the happy until they were whacked and kept the rest for himself. The question I have is how much they gave the Gotti crew. Nobody from that crew was involved in the heist. I just wonder if they gave them like a quarter million and said we will whack Tommy DeSimone for Billy Batts and Foxy and call it even. I believe Gotti would have gone for that deal.

Yaeh i deffintly believed gaspar valentis account. He connected all the dots i forgot what he said tommy did but he was there. Even all the deaths after the heist he explained i forgot most of it. Great read. But the fact he rolled on his cousin and his kid plus all the other lowlife shady shit he did then when hes out in vegas broke 30years later 65yeRs old with a new baby thats just creepy alone when old dudes have kids with young chicks just weird i got a friends father who did that we laugh hes in his 30tys with his newborn sister from another mother. Jury probaly didnt like the guy. The feds were giving him 3000$amonth what a gig at that age.
