What about Anthony "Gaspipe" Casso? Joseph "Joe Bananas" Bonanno? Didn't they hate their nicknames?
Carmine Persico hated being called "the Snake". He got the nickname apparently for betraying the Gallo crew in the 1960s. Most in his circle called him Gas I think
