Members included Joe Adonis, Anthony Carfano, Albert Anastasia and Willie Altieri but was Frankie's organisation a family of its own or a crew subordinate to another Boss? If it was a family what was the structure?

Yale was "under" Masseria, but since there was a lot of shifting alliances at the time and that people who headed organizations aligned or under a boss were powers in and of themselves-it was less regimented than what LCN eventually became, Yale had a lot of power himself with his south Brooklyn faction. Yale himself was Calabrian, so it is not surprising that he was close to a lot of non- Sicilians

Yale was also close to Sam Pollaccia (who Maseria was lunching with on the day of his death and Pollachia himself was later killed by Vito Genovese and Paul Ricca according to Gentile). He was close to a lot of Chicago people: Colosimo, Capone and Torrio. Anthony Carfano was reported to be what could be termed today as his underboss.

After Yale's death Profaci took over Yale's organization, some sources say that Carfano got a piece of Yale's interests also. I'm not sure if someone was done an in-depth study of the structure of the organization in the Yale era beyond the above.

It's always been said that Capone had Yale killed. But those traditional theories ignores the fact that that Capone could not have done that without Masseria's permission and that a lot of people within in Yale's organization or allied to Masseria became more powerful and prominent immediatly after Yale's death.

This life of ours, this is a wonderful life. If you can get through life like this, hey, thats great. But it's very, very unpredictable. There are so many ways you can screw it up.-Paul Castellano (he would know)

If I remember correctly from Tony Nap's book, "My Father, My Don", Jimmy Napoli was also a member of Yale's gang and his mother was one of Yale's girlfriends.
