Yes, back in January. Do you live here in Cali? I can't remember. If you do, he's playing the Hollywood Bowl in October. I noticed he's playing in SF and NY too.

I'd have to agree with what Helen said. He put on a pretty good concert but his singing could be better so just drink as much booze as he does and he will sound great grin
That's what worked for me lol

Well that is awesome, well I have been known to booze it up ay shows so I don't think I would have a problem with that. Though Wednesday I was at a show in Saratoga and dtank only water had to do the responsible thing because I brought my brother, still had fun though

I am in Upstate NY luckily I have family in LA and down state so I have options.

Very cool. Hope you get to see him. Remember to go heavy on the booze grin

Hey Dude.
Saratoga Performing Art Center June, 1978, Saw Crosby, Stills and Nash; July, Poco and America; July, Bonnie Raitt; August, Linda Ronstadt; September, the Marshall Tucker Band. Incredible summer of music with musicians at the peak of performances. Day time boating around Lake George, nighttime rockin' out to the best performers of their time.

Sounds like a great summer nothing like live music, the sun and a boat, I wish I could have been around for killer line up. My dad always tells me how great going to SPAC was back then BYOB according to him. My dad brought me to my first concert there, Allman Brothers.

Johnny Cash covering "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails

Trent Reznor said Hurt was now Johnny's song, I'm not even sure if he still performs it at NIN concerts.

One song I like that was done by others still had the original performer (well at least one of them anyways) was Comfortably Numb, the live version done by Roger Waters in 1991 in Berlin. Waters did his original part in the song and Van Morrison and The Band (mainly Morrison) did the chorus on the song. It was the version played on The Departed. Van Morrison nailed it.

AMAZING! I've never heard him sing "Black". He's an excellent singer.

Johnny Cash is always good! Thnx for sharing.

(I'm not a Springsteen fan so I'm going with Jimmy C on that one smile )

And Dixie, you're OUT OF YOUR MIND saying that Van Morrison nails David Gilmour in "Comfortably Numb"!!! grin lol tongue And I just saw Morrison in concert back in January and saw David Gilmour in March. So it's not like I don't enjoy Morrison. But you're reaching!

I recorded part of Gilmour singing "Comfortably Numb", at the LA Forum, take a listen.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bx7kECosgroNYTZFTGhPZVBaUkU

NOW, listen to your version.
http://youtu.be/wpFo_E9Fq2k

There's NO WAY Morrison nails it lmao Gilmour is the MASTER!!

AND listen to him play his guitar. Man, the guy shreds!! He's like 70 yrs old cool

(And the ppl who get in my video either talking or dancing around, I don't know. I do know that they were high as a kite, even I got a contact high at that concert.) grin lol

I'm not saying he sounded like him, I'm just saying his voice was perfect for the chorus of that song. I've never been a real big fan of Gilmour.

AG...I love the Staind version of Black...but...it's just him doing an impression of Eddie Vedder. Good though!

Very true Fergie.

I'd have to say that Thelma Houston really nails the song "Don't Leave Me This Way", previously recorded by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. Good lyrics. Meow. Great song to dance to too. Disco fever smile

Almost any Dylan song covered by almost anyone. My favorites:

"All Along the Watchtower" - Hendrix
"My Back Pages" - Byrds
"It Ain't Me Babe" - Turtles

Ok, let's see if anyone can guess who sang the English version of this song. Who sang it and what was the song title?

Italian version - io che non vivo senza te

All God's children are not beautiful. Most of God's children are, in fact, barely presentable.

I never met anyone who didn't have a very smart child. What happens to these children, you wonder, when they reach adulthood?

Isn't it so sad? She has to follow him and beg him to come home. Damn, I can't get rid of my hubby for more than a couple hours. I drop him off at the pizza parlor/ bar but he always manages to find his way home. lol

The Italian lyrics are even sadder cry

So true. Dylan's 30th anniversary concert, in '93, was a fabulous event. Only time the concert lagged was when Dylan was singing. He was awful. madA parody of himself.

The version of "Live and Let Die" that was sung briefly in the film is great. Saw the film a few times and always meant to look up who did it.

B.J. Arnau

Quincy Jones version of Superstition is great also

What do you think about Dylan's son? I like some of his music like One Headlight.

I thought of a song that Elvis sang called It's Now or Never which is the Italian song 'O Sole Mio. Lyrics were changed for Elvis. Both versions are fantastic.
