Did Tony "Ducks" Corallo ever regret as to who his successor should have been after he was imprisoned? Who do you think should have been the Lucchese boss after Tony Ducks' imprisonment?

Perfectly put. Mikey would be dead or retired by now anyway. He was pushing seventy when he was killed, and that's 25 years ago. But the power was always right there before Ducks lost his mind during the Commission case. East Harlem, East Bronx, Southern Westchester. A slow progression north. Those animals in Brooklyn set that family back ten years. But the old Salerno crew's close ties to the Westside, especially through their construction partnerships, insured that the power would end up back where it belonged. This isn't a geographical boast. I wouldn't piss on most wiseguys if they were on fire. But the right guy is clearly running things in that family smoother than anyone has since before the Commission case.

That was hard to swallow. Especially given Eddie's boxing partnership with the Westside. He and Cockeyed Nick were partners for years. And we're always talking about how close the Lucchese/Genovese relationship is in the Bronx/Westchester area (and in East Harlem years ago).

Anyway, Nick was dead by the time Buddy got hit. If he was still alive, I really don't think Eddie would have gotten swayed like that. But that's just conjecture. Because as it is, the Westside is the most homegrown family. And if you think back to Eddie's betrayal, I guess it's for a reason.

Migliore would have been a contender for sure, if he didn't turn down an admin spot in the 70's.

Think Neil migliore was indicted in 85 86 to but a different concrete case which he got smoked on but reversed on appeal being the only reason he's free today. I wanna say in darcos book he says Neil was amuso first consig but either the court case or imprisonment bumped casso up to that spot. Avellino and Mig had the same mindset, pmac. They both got very wealthy at young ages and became more white collar as the years progressed. As close as they were to the top at one time, neither showed much interest in running things.

Only Joey Dee is a Lucchese. Louie and Vinny (rest in peace to Vinny, a true gentleman) were Westsiders. And in '86 Joey wasn't that strong yet. Vinny was heading inside at that time. And that's when Stevie really made a name for himself through his construction partnerships with the DiNapolis. His closeness to the DiNapoli brothers can not be understated. It brought the Harlem and Bronx Luccheses even closer than they already were.

I believe Macaluso was Tommy Lucchese's Consigliere in the 60's, and then by the 80's an underboss-in name only. I don't think he actually had alot of power. I don't think he was even considered a successor to Tony Ducks. He was old by then... He was then forced into retirement by Amuso.

Pretty much. Macaluso was an old man by the time Ducks went away. I think it was more of an honorary title than anything else. He died not too long after they put him out to pasture.
