Is Ray Argentina or his younger brother Peter Argentina still active? Remember reading that Peter Argentina was shot in the arm by Frank Lastorinos son Carlo back in early summer 2011.

Claims he was one of the originals, but that he didn't want his Captain stripes. Preferred to be low key.

Nah, list was for guys in 88 when Vario went away. I think they just meant those crew members had passed away by that time, not that they were associates.

Tic becomes Tony ducks consig in 1980 guess that's how he got around galante 79 murder. Anyone know any other guys? I read in the 60tys profaci hired or used tic to kill Gallo gang members. He made alot of money right up until he went to prison in 87.

D'arcos book also mentions that Bruno Facciolo had "20 guys around him".

Here are a few more that Al D'arco mentioned that were in Vario crew or, later on, his own crew:

Harpo Trapani (Varios driver)
Shorty Dipalo
Anthony Calagna
Patty Dellarusso
Joseph D'arco

There was also a woman, Theresa Ferarra, selling drugs for the Vario crew. A hairdresser from Long Island. She disapeared on Feb 10th, 1997.

On February 10, 1979, Ferrara received a phone call at her salon.[1] She told her 19-year-old niece, Maria Sanacore, that she was meeting someone at a nearby Long Island diner, and Sanacore should come looking for her if she did not return in 15 minutes. Before leaving the salon, Ferrara left behind her purse, car keys, and mink coat. Ferrara also told Sanacore, "I have a chance to make $10,000." Ferrara did not return from the meeting.

On May 18, 1979, a dismembered female torso was found floating in Barnegat Inlet, near Toms River, New Jersey.[2] An autopsy performed at the Saint Barnabas Community Medical Center in Toms River confirmed, through recent breast augmentation surgery, that the body was Ferrara's. To date, no one has stood trial for Ferrara's murder. It is believed that Theresa Ferrara was one of the two women to be murdered in connection with the 1978 Lufthansa Heist.

She paid the ultimate price that Henry weaseled out of. I wonder if the FBI ever offered her a deal. She must have known enough to help them and they could have saved her life.

I am very interested in the Vario crew and its lineage:

One more:

Associate Frank James Burke. Jimmy's kid. He died in drug dispute 1987, apparently.

Yes I got Ferrara's disappearance date wrong, it was 1979. Thanks Oak.

Didn't even notice. I just posted the wikipedia text, mainly for the timeline of her death, which I find disturbing. Regardless, you're welcome. And happy Thanksgiving.

BTW, I started a thread similar to this one a while back. It looks like you've already read D'Arco's book, but for what it's worth, this reply from MightyDR went into the Vario crew's lineage.

Quote
Check out Al D'Arco's book. Goes into a lot of mob history. According to what D'Arco learned, there used to be one big mob in Brooklyn and one of the original guys in it was called Turrido Curiale. He became a captain in the Luchese family, presumably because he had mutual interests with Tommy Luchese in the garment business. He made a guy called Joe Schiavo who was Al D'Arco's relative. When Curiale decided to step down, he offered Schiavo the captain spot. But Schiavo didn't want it and told him to give it to Paul Vario, who Schiavo had recruited and sponsored into the family.
