Someone's recent Salvie post is what peaked my interest.....I remember Scarfo kissing Salvie on his lips when he got out of Al Tuna but there has to be someone who did this before him. Who was the originator?

Does it have to be on the lips AND does that always mean that you are, MARKED for death by this action?

I thought I vaguely remember Genovese doing this to someone but not sure.

Thanks

Nick was not giving him the kiss of death when he got off the plane he kissed him for getting rid of Harry's crew.

It was possibly Chuckie that planted that kiss..

Cackling like a banty Rooster.

Thats right. And the same ritual is also used among some insects grin

A "Godmother ant" who uses "Mob" tactics to rub out rivals has been discovered by scientists.

Dr Thibaud Monnin at the University of Sheffield and colleagues at the University of Keele were surprised to find that dinoponera quadriceps ants, known as dinosaur ants, and the Mafia have something in common.

Both have dominant leaders who give rivals a "kiss of death" as a signal for their "Mob" to punish the offender, they report today in the journal Nature.

If the mother ant - alpha female - has her position threatened by another female (usually the next highest ranking ant, known as the beta female) she will wipe her sting against the pretender, leaving behind a distinctive chemical mixture.

This often acts as a signal to lower ranking ants in the colony to punish the "pretender" and secure the alpha female's position as the only breeding female.Prof Francis Ratnieks, one of the authors, added: "Ants have similarities to humans in that both police their societies in order to prevent undesirable behaviour."

Scarfo Sr. who envied the charisma of Salvie Testa within the family, first when salvie asked if he could leave the daughter of chickie Merlino, just a step from the upcoming wedding, Scarfo said that was okay, that they were young, then instigated a chickie against salvie saying it was an insult that he had done to his daughter, so Merlin asked permission to kill him, Scarfo gave the okay and Chuckie gave to Salvie the kiss of death. This was said by Leonetti in mafiaprince.

How was born the kiss of death ?
No one knows for sure, except that it is a typical Sicilian tradition
And Genovese gave to Valachi the kiss of death and Valachi know that he's dead and flip.

That's the significance behind the tradition. But I doubt anyone's used it in the past twenty years or so.

I mean, if a boss grabs a guy and kisses him on the mouth today, the guy is likely to run straight to 26 Federal Plaza with the Boss's DNA still on his lips.

I don´t get it. Do you mean the boss could be charged for sexual harassment or something?
