Too much money in my opinion

It's actually 25% less than what they paid him the last two years. It's OK. He fills a need and provides leadership to the young arms. He keeps the clubhouse loose too. His teammates love him.

No doubt he is an asset, 30 wins in two seasons pretty darn good. Pretty penny for a 42 year old, hopefully I eat my words and he does well again.

My White Sox were hot for him, dude. He wanted too much money for too little time for our needs. We still need a solid outfielder with a booming bat.

Well I wasn't pleased with his performance in the post season but he is definitely the power we need and we gave him incentive to play well.

Both Yoenis Cespedes and now an unnamed ex-Met both want the Mets to sign Yulieski Gourriel.

I thought I heard they were moving Walker to third and calling up Herrera.

Not good. We need bats. Verret pitched well enough last night. Even if we lose an arm and Harvey is up and down, we should be competing much more. I'd hate to trade off one of those arms (wheeler or even Harvey) but we are two bats away from being back in this. Obviously the wild card is right there but I want the division and a ring. Ownership needs to bust moves and I don't mean Jose Reyes.
