The only info I currently know about Vito's 2 brothers is:

Their names where Carmine and Michael AND, they both were members of his family.

All and any info that anyone has on them would be greatly appreciated.

Were they younger? older?
Soldiers?, Capos?
What happened to them after Vito went to the can?
When did they die?

Thank you, to all who respond!

I can get you an FBI file on Michael smile

Here you go http://vault.fbi.gov/thomas-ryan-eboli/Thomas%20Ryan%20Eboli%20Part%202%20of%205%20

Maryferrell has a more concise version that other users have posted. Can't find it right now but Tommy Eboli and Mike Genovese were meeting to discuss Carlo Gambino walking all over them, and Eboli's frustration with Jerry Catena as acting boss. Mike doesn't say much but clearly he was in some high level discussions. I believe he was very low profile.

Carmine was the middle brother, Michael the youngest. To my knowledge, Carmine was never identified as a made guy. I know he was once a witness for the prosecution in a murder but recanted his testimony at the trial, claiming the police had forced the pre trial statement out of him. Michael was definitely made. He went by the moniker of "Gumba Mike". It doesn´t appear that he was a member of any specific Genovese crew, but may have been assaigned directly to the Genovese administration with the task of relaying messages between Vito´s acting bosses Catena, Miranda and Eboli. He may have been the caretaker of some of Vito´s rackets while Vito was in prison. Sometime after Vito´s death, it seems that Mike retired to Italy and died there in 1986.

One thing needs to be mentioned regarding Tommy Ryan. He was very suspicious about the Commission and their dealings with the whole Joe Bonanno affair. He openly critizised Carlo Gambino for undermining Bonanno´s cause. For example, he was not convinced that the Commission had sent messages to Bonanno in a proper way. He expressed despise and suspected that these messages were sent, only when they knew that Bonanno was out of town and not around to receive them. If interested, you can read all about it in documents found on MaryFerrell.

There is plenty of info on the extended Gigante family if you seek it out.

I invoke my right under the 5th amendment of the United States constitution and decline to answer the question.
