I know that Frank Lino was an unexpected visitor on that night in 1981 but I really wonder if anyone there tried to take him out as he ran away?

From what I have read, Lino was not 100% on either side of the brewing war but, it seems like bringing Lino to that meeting was maybe Sonny Red's half assed insurance policy to keep bullets from flying.....He KNEW that bullets may fly that night so bringing Lino for personal protection does makes sense.

Someone here did previously state that Lino went to The Chin, told the entire truth and no one was allowed to touch him but, I really do wonder if anyone fired at him?

I don't think anyone shot at him according to testimony from Vitale I think it was.

I thought he ran to Neil Dellacroce who told him next time he was supposed to die you die not run or some shit like that.

Supposedly,Sal Vitale was supposed to be the sentry at the door to prevent anybody from escaping,but failed miserably in his assignment.Lino blew past him and then somehow escaped right past a vanload of Sonny Black's crew members parked outside the club who were supposed to intercept anybody running from the place.Lino's survival is further proof(to me,at least)that when it's your time to go,you go,and when it's not,you won't.He then reached out to his cousin Eddie who assured his safety and brought him to quick meeting with Dellacroce.He was then quizzed on who he told about what happened to the 3 captains and asked if he contacted any law enforcement.After assuring Dellacroce that he hadn't told anybody except for his cousin Eddie,they told him to just forget about it and that he had nothing further to fear.

Neil was stone cold.

It seems like they wanted the three captains, not Lino. Not that they wouldn't have killed anyone just for being there, but he was not the primary target, so he got away. Apparently they didn't think he was going to rat, probably too much risk to hit him outside the club while the captains were being finished off and disposed of inside. Just my opinion.

Yes you are right, he wasn't supposed to have been there nor killed so it confused everyone there when he ran out because everyone had their eyes and weapons on the 3 capos. I think once Dellacroce got ahold of him and they figured out he wasn't supposed to get popped himself nobody worried about it and he would have been stupid to raise a stink over it because I'm sure even he knew he would be dead quick if he did.

Like you said if they chased Lino and popped him outside then they had a mess on their hands. Even though they screwed up they did the right thing
