I thought Joan Allen was hotter than Gina Gershon in Face/Off. I love that bit where Nicolas Cage (with John Travolta's face) grabs her ass.

Something about Gershon's face annoys me. I think it's those joker lips.

In a limited episodes series, Helen Hunt and Paul Rieser will reprise their roles as Paul and Jamie in Mad About You which ran throughout the 90s.

Can't wait to see it.

Popcorn alert: if you get MeTV, Svengoolie has the 1931 Dracula with Bela Lugosi. Following that, the original Star Trek episode "The Doomsday Machine," about the giant cigar floating through the galaxy and gorging itself on whole star systems.

If you haven't done so already, you should be checking out THE WATCHMEN on HBO. The pilot debuted on Sunday and all I've got to say after it is WOW, give me more!

I wasn't planning and didn't think I'd have time to stock up on horror movies this month but that's exactly what I found myself doing. Here's how my final list turned out:

-Final Destination
-Final Destination 2
-Final Destination 3
-The Final Destination
-Final Destination 5
-3 From Hell
-Insidious
-Insidious: Chapter 2
-Insidious: Chapter 3
-Insidious: The Last Key
-Dracula (1931)
-Frankenstein (1931)
-The Mummy (1932)
-The Invisible Man (1933)
-The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
-The Wolf Man (1941)
-Phantom of the Opera (1943)
-Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954)
-Nosferatu (1922)
-The Golem (1915)
-Countdown
-The Phantom of the Opera (1925)
-The Man Who Laughs (1928)

And I even fit in John Carpenter's Dr. Dementia trilogy that plays in the original HALLOWEEN:

-The Thing From Another World
-Forbidden Planet
-The Creeping Unknown aka The Quartermass Xperiment

26 movies in 31 days when I originally didn't even plan on doing anything like this this year. Not bad. Got to see a lot of films I'd either never seen or it's been years since I've seen them. Really got more of an appreciation for the classics after these viewings.

Watched TRIPLE FRONTIER which was just alright. Disappointed honestly as the cast and trailer made it look better than the final product actually was. Also watched THE KING and quite enjoyed it.

Watched THE DEVIL NEXT DOOR, which I found to be very interesting. Had never heard of it before but saw it while searching for THE KING over the weekend. A limited series (only 5 episodes) about John Demjanjuk and if he was really the horrendous Nazi guard, Ivan the Terrible, from the Treblinka concentration camp. The show starts with his arrest in 1984 in Cleveland and follows his extradition to Jerusalem, where he's put on trial.

Very impressive, I did also see some of these but went light this year with only a few soft one I love every year.

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
Arsenic and Old Lace.

We were not into it much this year since we lost our good boys. Losing two old dogs in the same year is tuff.

Totally understandable DP. Sorry again for your loss. Like I said, I wasn't planning on watching this many horror films this year but I purchased the Universal Classic Monster's Blu-Ray set a few years ago and it's been sitting by my TV ever since then. So I finally decided, with it already being October at the time, it was the perfect time to go through them. I'd seen them all before but not the special features or on blu-ray. And for some of these films like DRACULA and FRANKENSTEIN from way back in 1931, the sound and audio are REALLY upgraded. Universal did a very nice job with this boxset!

THANX again i.......

So funny, AMC had a random showing of Bride of Frankenstien Saturday morning. It was not a horror marathon or even follow up similar movie...... I watch the entire Movie, it was great and will always be one of my Favs.

Didn’t they have a spin off from that one of Dr. Prestorious?
Not sure but thought they did.

It was really good, did not think I would since it looked dark but I did and it was.

The 2010's are officially in the books and with it, a great decade of horror films. It brought to my attention new directors such as Ari Aster and Roger Eggers, both of whom I'll continue to look forward to whatever they attach their name to. It also expanded my definition of what a horror film could be. Some really solid classics were made and I'm looking forward to what the 2020's have to offer. Below is my Top Ten list of horror films for the 2010's (in no particular order);

-IT
-IT FOLLOWS
-THE WITCH
-HEREDITARY
-MIDSOMMAR
-THE CONJURING
-A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT
-HALLOWEEN
-GET OUT
-SUSPIRIA

Watched UNBELIEVABLE on Netflix the last couple of days and it was alright; kinda disappointing for a Netflix show. Going in to it I thought it strictly focused on Kaitlyn Dever's character of Marie, which it is not. She's the first victim and the series is split and continues to bring her back, but she's not the only victim here unfortunately. Dever's gives the best performance and my biggest problem with the series were the victims: I just didn't believe them in their PTSD/recovery stage. Each one of them (with the exception of 1 who was made to look like a crazed, spiritual nut) actually gave any sort of emotion during their performance. Show is decent but could have been better.

Today at the gym I watched WHITE SAVIOR: RACISM IN THE AMERICAN CHURCH on Amazon Prime. Yeah, I'll give you 2 guesses how that one went over. Don't waste your time, but I can't believe somebody actually made this crap AND tried to defend it! lol
