EDIT: Whoops noticed you mentioned good films, some of these are questionable but worth a watch i guess. The Take is one of my favorites.

Not quite sure they are in the gangster genre but Snatch and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels are very good British crime films..

I really enjoyed the Top Boy series also, thought the acting was pretty good.

Although i read there is going to be no series 3, which is a big disappointment considering it was planned out to be 3 series.
