I did a search and could not find any threads about WV/West Virginia.

Does anyone know anything about the history of places in West Virginia like Wheeling, Weirton, Bethany, and other places in WV close to Pittsburgh PA/Youngstown Ohio in the 20s and 30s? Like who controlled them?

Were people who were involved in the mob close to 100 years ago in WV mainly Sicilian, Calabrese, or Neapolitan? Were they LCN or the black hand, or both?

Anyone know anything about these areas during that time? Or who ran them or was involved in running them?

I looked on Amazon.com and there's a book about Youngstown Ohio by historian Alan May; but it has to do with a bit later than I am asking about has anyone here read it? Is it a good read?

I did find this page; but it has to do with people who were in control after 1930.

http://www.geocities.ws/organizedcrimesyndicates/westvirginia.pittsburgh.html

There's also this blog with links I found; but it has to do with more modern day people.

There was a group in Clarksburg & Fairmont, West Virginia. The two distinct crews were apprantly very close and involked in others affairs. They were mostly Black Handers. The Corbi Brothers of the Baltimore Crew were early members before they fled to Baltimore, after some shit went down.

Most of them were murdered or arrested and exectured. They were active from around 1908 to 1923

Thanks for the reply. Where in Italy were most black handers or people involved in that sort of thing from?
