After listening to the experts say that Mafia families throughout the US are not rebuilding their families and a leading reason is that they don't have any political connections.

So my question to the experts is: What political figures do the NY families have? What judges or cops are in their pockets? Maybe Representatives or Senators? Any input would be thoughtful, Thanks!

I have no clue at this day in age...but some of the older members probably have some judges and cops for sure...but I can't give names as I don't know.

There's very little political pull in the Mob today. In New York, anyway. We live in the world of 24 hour media. The President of the United States can't get a blowjob and keep it out of the news.

Now I'm not implying that it doesn't still happen in isolated instances at the local level. But if there was any high level corruption going on (think Senators and Congressmen), you would have read about it a long time ago.

And that lack of political pull today is one of the main differences between the old Mob and the new. I happen to think that Frank Costello was the sharpest boss ever. But Tammany Hall was a long time ago. He couldn't buy the President of the PTA today.

What about Michael Grimm? Did anything ever come about with him?

No. That was overblown by the Lefties in the media because he's a Republican who was seeking re-election at the time. It was a peripheral tie anyway (through his business partner). The Lefties would rather have you forget that the kid served his country in the Gulf War AND in the FBI rolleyes.

I remember reading about his BIO that he was a decorated veteran AND had 8 years in the FBI so when the stories of him being connected came up I was blown away. But as you confirmed it was just dirty politics trying to make him look bad and lose votes.
