It seems like all the illegal earning in Philly has switched over to the blacks and slowly the laws are catching up with the times. For all everyone knows all these guys have moved onto to other less risky ventures and are leading normal lives

Lol if by illegal earning you mean selling drugs where they grew up and shooting tourists over a backpack. Ohh wait I think "the blacks" been doing that for awhile. The decimation of LCN is due to Rico statutes, informants, advances in gambling technology and access to offshore betting.

Online gambling in NJ starts on Nov. 26.

So far the Borgata, the Golden Nugget, Trump Plaza, the Trump Taj Mahal and the Tropicana have permits for online gambling. Should be interesting to see how they do. AC has really been hurting with all the new competition from neighboring states.

Joey is the man, I met him somewhere very recently, and he is a very respectful guy. Even to a nobody like me.

are the feds gonna do raids on the casino's like they do sometimes on the weed despenceries in cali. pretty sure the state of nj and fatso Christie are breaking all types of federal laws. im here in Massachusetts can I make a bet across state lines. I remember Christie said screw the gov we want to open spots book in a.c. are there sports book on the strip? people will still deal with bookies to evoid taxes but it will put a dent in some action.

yeah that's what I meant drugs, prostitution etc, didn't know online gambling wasn't legal yet in NJ?? besides what they showed in the film runner runner, I still wouldn't really trust online gambling too much... computer programmer's can always mess with the odd's, or people can play single poker hands in groups which isn't something that is very easy to do at the tables at the casino as far as sports betting that is something that could actually be more convenient to do online

If I'm not mistaken, the legalized online gambling involves poker and such. Not sports betting. And even if that were to become legal, which I'll believe when I see it, there are many players who don't want to put their money in some online account but deal face to face with someone they know. They can also bet on credit and don't have to put up the money beforehand, like in a casino.

Betting on credit is the only advantage, a lot of young gamblers nowadays use five dimes or bovada with no problems.

only time they start to raid the weed shops is when the shops start making too much money or the people in the surrounding neighborhoods complain or if they think there are other types of dealing going on in there... there are still some real shifty people that come into those places and they tend to get robbed

I may be wrong, but bookmaking may be something that goes the way of the dinosaur once these thirty somethings (and under) who use the online sites like 5dimes and Sportsbook get older and the fifty and sixty somethings that use the street books start to "retire" from betting.

Of the two guys I use regularly for sports book; one is under 25. The other is in his 60's. The younger guy deals with a lot of people our age. The older guy, I don't know,

In this weeks Gang Land..Merlino says Paciello never said a word to him.

"He never got out of his seat," said Merlino. "He never came up to me, he was scared to death. He never even looked my way. It never happened."

Merlino also told Capice that:

"Whoever told you that story is a lying motherfucker," said Merlino. "Trying to make these fucking rats look like tough guys. He thinks he's a tough guy because he killed an innocent lady in front of her kids. If that was me I wouldn't be allowed in the place. The cocksucker didn't look at me. He never got out of his chair. It's a joke.

And personally i believe Merlino's version of it more then i do Paciello's. Just my opinion though.

In the Gang Land column Merlino said Paciello was with a 70 year old guy...not hot babes.

22...one on one i would have to bet on Paciello. But anything more then that and i would go with Merlino....i think you know what i mean. lol

That's how it is with most of those guys. No, GC?

I mean, I'm fairly confident that I COULD have given Carlo Gambino a beating one-on-one. But WOULD I have? That's the question lol.

Well, I was talking about 70 year old Carlo anyway. And I KNOW I could have taken an 80 year old Lansky lol.

In his older years especially those last 2 or 3 before he died Gambino looked pretty frail to me...a stiff breeze probably could of knocked him down at that point.
