I know about him since he became a Lucchese, but I'm interested in his time in Philly. I'm guessing he was running with guys since he was a teen given his dad? Was he and when was he made into Philly? Was he a soldier? Captain? Who did he run with in Philly? Was he close to Scarfo young guys like Pungitore, Grande? etc.
I know there are many knowledgeable Philly guys on here so does anyone have info/stories on Scarfo Jr that isn't on the web?

He never got down in philly. He hung around vinny iannece, tommy scafidi among others, he was also close with merlino before the falling out scarfo. He wasn't very well liked by anyone, no one shed a tear the night he got shot up besides his pop.

I´m not positively sure, but it seems like Scarfo Jr, for a short period of time, functioned as crew leader in the Lucchese Family. Either as an acting capo or as an official capo. Sometime around 2006, or 2007 he was replaced by Ralph V. Perna.
There are conflicting stories on when he was made with the Luccheses. Some say already in 1986, which doesn´t make any sense because he must have been with the Philadelphia Family back then. Considering he was shot at in 1989, and his father wanted him to join the Luccheses for his own protection, he was most likely made with the Luccheses shortly after he was shot. So I figure sometime in 1989 or 1990.

One thing I do know, that dude has aged real badly! That picture of him with the slicked back hair from his 20s to now...

Scarfo Jr was made in 1994 along with Joseph “Big Joe” Datello I believe.

The Merlinos had a bad falling out with the Scarfos in 1986. Soon after Scarfo and most the family were taken down in indictments. Scarfo began using his son to pass messages and collect of some of the street tax but by then Joey Merlino, Mike Ciancaglini and their crew were doing their own thing and no longer recognizing Scarfo so they tried to kill Nicky Jr in 1989. They shot him several times but he survived. To get him out of Philly Scarfo Sr. placed him in the North Jersey Crew. Soon after that Nicky Jr was imprisoned for the Freselone operation. By the time he got out Merlino and his Crew had taken over the family and would have clipped Nicky Jr. if he had returned so Scarfo Sr got him transferred and made into the Lucchese family as protection.

Scarfo Jr was acting Captain of the Lucchese Jersey crew until 2007 (for the imprisoned Capra) when he was demoted by the Lucchese ruling panel (Madonna, DiNapoli, Migliore) in favor of Ralph Perna. Joe Perna (all of them hate Jr,, they are good friends with Merlino) drove to tell Nicky Scarfo Jr the news of his demotion and said he was a "motherless fuck" on the way. After being demoted, Scarfo Jr immediately asked to move to Florida which was denied I believe.

Scarfo Jr is a ridiculous earner, look at his most recent indictment. Charged with looting $12 million out of that bank in Texas.

i read somewhere that when scarfo was released from jail in 2000 or 01 (joe bagels was acting boss) he was made in to the luchese this makes since because he was lockd up when merlino was running philly after stanfa i guess he was made a associate in 94 in the jersey crew. think in 94 casso fliped so i dont think they made people plus scarfo would only be in his 20tys?

Scarfo was made (by Joe DeFede) shortly after he got out of jail in 1994 along with Carlo Tacetta as a favor to their fathers for protection.

The pernas don't hate nicky jr because of merlino, they hate him because he's not one of them (hence "motherless fuck"), hes a philly guy who's only with them cuz his pop cut a deal with amuso. He'll always be an outsider up there. Him being a skipper for a little bit only pissed them off more.

And authorities were listening minutes later when Joseph called his brother John to tell him that their father had been tapped to replace Scarfo as head of the New Jersey branch of the crime family.

"He's the new captain," Joseph Perna told his brother, adding, "Tomorrow I'm going down to tell the other kid he's demoted."

John, laughing, said, "I bet you're all broken up about that."

The brothers then referred to media reports raising the possibility that Scarfo Jr. might make a move against those controlling the Philadelphia crime family his father Nicodemo once headed.

Scarfo JR didn't really hang around with many of those guys before his father got put away aside from summer times at the Jersey Shore. He was really considered an outsider by the younger guys like Merlino and the Changs because he #1 grew up and lives in AC not South Philly and #2 he didn't earn respect from the rest of the guys because he wasn't making the kind of moves those guys were out on the streets, he got what he got from being the son of the boss.

Mark Scarfo is alive and lives with his mother. I think he's still pretty much comatose though. I read somewhere a live-in nurse takes care of him at his mothers place.

Right Skinny...Chris Scarfo changed his last name to Ferry which is his wifes maiden name. He has a few son's i think and one of them looks just like Nicky Jr to me. lol

Nick jr. lived in egg harbor (Township) right across the street from Dolce Vita restaurant. Not (egg harbor) to different towns about 10 miles from each other.

Jr.for the most part stayed in A.C. so all the things in the other posts are right . The philly kids came to A.C. This is why he was not welcome up north or in philly (silver spoon thing)

The reason he was a good earner cus he was a good listener.
Sr. was LCN 24/7 and it did not stop in front of him.
