I imported my firefox bookmarks.
Below the adress field you should see the bookmark button. (In my case it says "Imported from Firefox).
If the bar doesn't show, you should change the settings.

Don't need it now but just curious. If you get a new computer, is there an easy way to transfer your "favorites" from one computer to another?? I mean without going to each individual site one by one to add to new computer? Just wondering.

I have no idea with IE, but there's supposed to be a pretty solid importing and saving system on Chrome. I can't vouch for it because i've only used Chrome on my current pc, but i'd imagine it's pretty solid.

Well, favorites are stored in a file. Locate the file, copy it to a storage medium, and upload to the new PC.

Yesterday, I fulfilled my contract obligation with AT&T and promptly contacted them to get my unlock code to unlock my phone and then switched over to T-Mobile. It was a seamless process I must say, it was the first time I have ever unlocked a phone.

What's the difference between unlocking it and jailbreaking it?

The basic difference is that jailbreaking (this is the term used for iOS devices) is about controlling what software you can install on your iPhone , while unlocking allows you to choose what mobile phone carrier the device will work with.

Has anyone had an experience with free website hosting? I've seen ads for a couple of such services. Are they legit?

I dont have any personal experience with any but for the most part they are legit. Look up reviews on google.

In case you have trouble launching iTunes, like me, I actually found a tip on their website. Hold down Shift+Ctrl and open iTunes. This apparently starts iTunes in Safe Mode. It worked.

^^never used it. It's either Firefox (for its abundance of add-ons) or Chrome all the way. I keep Internet Explorer installed cause some websites wont show up correctly without it.

Just finished a system scan with Microsoft Security Essentials. It took 7 hours.

I don't know why it takes some people so long? Mine takes 2 hours, tops but that's scanning my computer AND external hard drive which has an additional 205GB.

The scanning of system for such long time seems that window is corrupt. Reinstall of window would be better option by taking just 30 minutes.

I just downloaded the latest Chrome version. Took a couple of minutes. So far, there doesn't seem to be any change in performance.

I downloaded Chrome onto my work computer. This is really my first time having a Chrome browser to play with other than on a friend's computer. I've always used (and still do) Firefox on my personal but I want to see how Chrome compares. So far I like it but it's only been a day or so.

Hey all you tech pros. I am having a problem printing, just as of today for some reason. No matter what I try to print, from any site I get this message:

"A problem with this web page caused the internet explorer to close & reopen."

A couple times after rep-trying I'll get the page back. Any ideas? I don't print a lot, have a newer printer/computer and checking my printer settings, I can't see where there is a problem.

Any help will be appreciated. smile

TIS, you probably have add-ons that can play havoc with IE. Try disabling them one at a time to see if they are the problem. Have you tried rebooting? If you haven't, download Chrome and try printing from it.

Olivant is right. You should get Chrome,it is alot faster and not that many problems arise. Or at least not for me anyway.

Anyway i have no idea what's wrong bc i haven't used IE in so long, but i googled it and found this.

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/fo...8f-2d9aff771acb

This issue has actually been seen on Internet Explorer 7 and 8. The most likely problem is that a folder may be missing on your computer. The missing folder is C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Temp\Low\ (If Windows is installed to an drive other than C:\ then the folder is missing from that drive.
You can fix the problem by following the methods below, start with method 1 and go to the next one if that one doesn’t work.

Method 1: Restart Internet Explorer
Close all instances of Internet Explorer and then restart Internet Explorer and attempt to print or Print Preview. Restarting Internet Explorer should recreate the folder.

If this step does not resolve the issue, continue to the next Method

Method 2: Re-create the missing folder
Follow these steps to recreate the folder:
Note: you will need to be logged in to an account with administrative priviliges.
1. Close all instances of Internet Explorer
2. Click Start, and type %Temp% in the Start Search text area and then click Temp from the list
3. Click File from the main menu, click New and select Folder
4. Type Low for the folder name and click Enter
5. Close the Windows Explorer window, launch Internet Explorer and attempt to print or Print Preview

If these steps do not resolve the issue, continue to the next Method

Method 3: Reset low integrity level on the Low folder
To reset the low integrity level on the Low folder, follow the steps below:

1. Click Start, All programs, and then click Accessories
2. Right-click Command Prompt and click Run as administrator
3. In the Command Prompt window, type or copy and paste the following and press Enter
ICACLS %temp%\Low /setintegritylevel (OI)(CI)low
4. Restart the computer and attempt to print or print preview from Internet Explorer

Maybe if you try some of that it will work, but it sounds like alot of work when you can just get Chrome or Firefox.

In all seriousness... you don't have to delete IE... just at least TRY something better (My Top 3 listed above). You can have more than one browser at a time, so don't worry! ...if for some reason you don't like / can't figure out a superior (and simpler!) browser, you can always go back to the dark side.... (but you shouldn't!)

Hey Geoff!!!

Actually I have both IE and Firefox. I WASusing Firefox more regularly BUT for whatever reason, I kept losing connection. I always get it back but it got to be a pain, so I'm leaning more toward IE, tho still have FF.

That being said, I notice I CAN print if I print thru FF. confused Thing is, I WAS printing fine (tho not often)maybe a week ago with IE.

Also, FYI, and I don't know IF this is related. I THOUGHT I had IE 8 but while checking out things yesterday, I notice I automatically get updated and now have IE10 which I never knew I had. I use to get "asked" if I wanted to upgrade confused Could that have changed things as far as my printer goes?

Thanks everyone!! smile
