O ok i thought you meant it was an sb movie and your right not a game thread :), ya fallen was a good movie, very creppy. To me anything with denzel washington is great.

Just saw 42 and Olympus has Fallen, both great movies! Went by fast in my opinion.

TIS, that IS one of the creepiest movies ever! Love John Goodman in that, as well as my man Denzel! And isn't James Gandolfini in it?? That scene, when the people in the street bump into one another and the evil spirit goes from one to the other to the other, just SO creepy. And they keep singing that song! I can't ever listen to it now without thinking about the movie.

You're a John Goodman fan, right? Well, you should watch Trouble with the Curve. He's smaller, but he has aged.

To those who watch it, NewsRoom begins its 2nd season Sunday. HBO had been repeating season 1, but I only caught one episode.

I think it's on demand, TIS. Plus, the kids got me the first season on Blu-ray for my birthday. I'm looking forward to tomorrow night.

I do like the show but must admit I still am getting use to Sorkin's(?) style. Can't put my finger on it exatcly. Was West Wing the same style? If you know what I mean?

I will try to catch some more of it On-Demand later today. I hear they will be covering major recent news stories which is what I really like about it. smile

Many people thought their coverage of the day they got Bin Laden was too hokey and schmaltzy, but I liked it. Yes, the show has some flaws, and it's certainly not as good as West Wing, but it's a lot better than the Nth season of The Bachelor!

Sorkin loves dialogue and his shows move along at a healthy clip thanks to an abundance of it. West Wing was famous for "pedeconferencing", when the characters would walk and talk. I was always amazed that they managed to squeeze out that much dialogue while keeping up a fairly healthy pace!

She reminded me of Peggy from Mad Men in the very beginning, guess it was the whole young girl working her way up in the agency thing.

She's also not very bright in real life, she pulled an Anthony Weiner on Twitter.

Note: This contains nudity.

Well I did have a phone call during part of the show. Not too bad of an episode. I really like how they take the very very current events AND show clips of "Real" politicians and things they've said. I'm getting to kind of like (in a weird way cause he's not necessarily likeable) the Will character.

Maggie, I don't know what the deal is with her. lol

so Ryan Reynolds has two new movies out this week: The Dreamworks cartoon TURBO and the buddy movie R.I.P.D. with Jeff Bridges. Each cost $130+ million, and both expected to flop apparently.

Came across this article today announcing NBC's plans for a few mini-series.

One with Diane Lane playing Hillary Clinton which should be interesting. However, they also plan to do a remake of Stephen King's "The Tommyknockers" AND a remake of Rosemary's Baby, which is one of the best "devil" flicks IMHO. panic I would be interested in watching all three.

Really? The Tommyknockers? It's one of the King books I couldn't stand. Even King admits he barely remembers writing it, he was so messed up on drugs at the time.

Edit: Has anyone heard any more about his book about the Kennedy assassination being made into a film???

Hopefully they don't remake Rosemary's Baby or make a new JFK movie as SB was saying because i don't think you'll get a better one than Oliver Stones 90s film.

Just a note to let Board members know that AMC's Mob Week starts about August 12 and will show the Trilogy.

I just don't trust today's filmmakers to produce a remake that doesn't include the bells and whistles that today's technology allows. The temptation for a director to include those bells and whistles in a remake of Rosemary's Baby would probably be so great that it would never compare to the original. That original was devoid of technologically produced visuals; thus, the viewer focused on the acting. It scared the hell out of me.

Rosemary's Baby is one of only 2 films that have really scared me along with the Exorcist since i watched both when i was only 7 or 8. I personally prefer Polanski's Chinatown, but it's still a great movie that Hollywood would no doubt ruin.

I've been DVRing the episodes so I can watch them together as well as without commercials. I liked the book, so I'm glad it's a good series.

I am not up to date on comics I guess. I never heard of Flash. confused

But, for some reason, I started watching Arrow from the beginning and I actually like the series. Though, I can't say I've ever heard of the "Arrow" character either (comic book I assume). Anyway, I am enjoying the show and look forward to next season.
