Another golden nugget of info from the all mighty "friends of ours"

I sense that whoever works for that site or whoever runs it has a definite interest in the gay community, they always take special care when posting on the gay bar topics and the lesbian/gay topics in general.

The guys also got some great MC stuff.

The Hollywood Goodfella reminds me quite a bit of Friends of Ours

I guess the Mafia looks a blind eye at this kind of activity much like they turn one at the drug business. I would have hoped that this wouldn't be tolerated.

In the end, it really does come down to the money. Paul and other guys were recorded on tape badmouthing DB about being in the porn business but that never stopped them from taking money from him.

However, Nino Gaggi did come down on Roy DeMeo for trafficking in child porn. In fact, he threatened to kill him if he didn't stop. Roy had been involved in the regular porn business for a while but he argued that "was the way the industry was going" and they "couldn't stay competitive" if they didn't adapt. But DeMeo made him quit anyway.

Every family probably had at least one person handling that business for them. It would be interesting to know every crime all members of five families have commited in their lifetime.

Gnarly! Coming from you I believe this, it's certainly a fascinating tidbit.

You can read about it in the book "Murder Machine."

You're right. There's heaps of pages and files on Stonewall and mob involvement in gay bars, quite interesting stuff.

Different sources say it was Angelo Ruggiero or Sammy Gravano who instigated DiBernardo's whacking. Who do you guys think was responsible?

I never seen this thread until now and definitely going to read up on these. This is the first time I think I've ever seen DiB in a picture, of course it's not the best picture but it works!

Been looking for the mob week episodes of Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher but they are proving elusive. Hundreds of episodes on YouTube but this ain't one of them!

Cindy DiBernardo, Jerry Capeci and Steve Schirripa were among the guests. Anyone remember this?

he was a very important $$$soldier in the 80tys he had interest in the porno biz alway the way up in Worcester mass and in rhode island nevermind nj, cali, and florida. he was 50/50 on a porn store up here in 1980. all the porn guys from different familys worked with him and needed his help. think he was under indictment when he was murderd or out on appeal. the westside and patriarca family had a understanding but when d.b. came into the picture there had to be sitdowns.

Fat Fat owed DB $250K or so and Gravano wanted control of DB's union. They both had Gotti's ear. If he was dealing in kiddie porn he deserved what he got.

Bitter queen is a decent blog. Great article I read about salvatore granello a genovese huge earner who was a kiddy molester and got whacked out by eboli. Dude was a fing pig who deserved what he got. Does anyone know a good book about the end of the Newark family and the genovese takeover of nj and the battle between tony bananas and the genovese after catena retirement

They all may act like its the worst thing in the world (and it is) but in the street its how it goes and it around every corner supply and demand and all the little book stores and there were a shit load involved in everything!!! Money loans booze to minors and sex of any kind with anything. in AC and up the Black & Whitehorse pike and up and down the state was all connected and it went right to the boss.

The bosses that went for that shit were the bosses that lived it grew up in the allys where and when the children learned rank sexually and as they grew up it got worse and and turned into a business. NY guys were all over AC and big names this fat redhead guy Fat Richie was in and out of every hole in the wall he was connected to DB and to NY and Philly and had a crew of kids everyone knew and it went right back to guy like little Harry and he was with DB and Ny guys in that.

Some took money blind but others knew the suffering those kids were going through and as they got older they were used for something else ...shit some kids if nobody came around while they were hanging out those kids would disappear quick ...sold for whatever reason.

Some sold for movies some to prostitute others used in a different city as a street kid that ended up in a drug or other crew.

This stuff was rampant in 60’s 70’s early 80’s when the big crack down came .

Scarfo Jewish partner was wrapped up with Fat Rich and DB but not Bruno it was the guys Harry from west Philly was and a few Jewish guys one was a multi millionaire that i will not name i know his son and he does well and his head guy was his fathers head guy and still kicking at 80 running shit but all is legitimate as far as i know and he owns some good businesses .

Extortion its been a long time .... good to see you posting

Alite and borello podcast with bobby who worked in these porn stores for paul castellano, roy demeo and robert debenardo...He said Castellano knew about the child sex trafficking and only ordered them to stop after he was arrested in the stolen car case...He also talks about how they set him up in the child porn racket and would send him on dates with old men when HE WAS A KID(DISCUSTING) Very fascinating and interesting

A March 1986 raid on DiBernardo's office seized alleged "child pornography and financial records." As "a result of the Postal Inspectors seizures [a federal prosecutor] is attempting to indict DiBernardo on child pornography violations" according to an FBI memo dated May 20, 1986.

Yeah it is disgusting....

But it was a thing that any street kid knew.... parents kept kids close ..... its not like now people were praying on your children and it was in most major city’s .

It still takes a certain kind of guy to run these rackets and thats why Harry was always looked down apron , shady cats !

The guy Bobby the guys he is talking about owning the buildings are were some shrewd guys but there money is still making money even though they are gone

Guys would get a girl to drink and as soon as he could he get her on 714’s or heroin and get her or him under control, many thought it was to get them to be buyers it was to get them to do anything for a long time a sex slave for dope. .

I just finished watching The Deuce. I thought it was bullshit how Michael Rispoli's character had a moral epiphany re: the child pornography racket, when in reality nobody with his standing in the Gambino or Genovese family had any qualms about profiteering from it. I know how episodic television works and they had to make him more likeable or relatable in order to make Tommy Longo's betrayal more powerful, but come on...

And don't get me started on James Franco's portrayal of what are supposed to be effectively mafia associates. It would've been nice to have the main characters show more shades of grey, rather than being all out loveable rogues.

Getting back to my original point, this Robert Di Bernardo (who is mentioned in The Deuce) wasn't killed because of the filth he peddled. He was killed because of money. That's what it always comes down to.

The Deuce was a great show all the same. Slow-burning but worth sticking with if you approach it more like a book - just like all David Simon shows.

I just had to get off my chest that one bit which stuck in my craw.

That's what made The Sopranos so great. I love Tony Soprano as a character, as an antihero - but his actions were not written to be admired. His arc was what it should've been. You grow to loathe him by the end of the series. Likewise, Paulie and Christopher are great characters and have scenes and storylines that show a human side (that all people good and bad have) but you are never far away from a scene that shows their true nature to remind you that you're not supposed to be rooting for them.

Some of the mob stuff in The Deuce was uncomfortably akin to all those Movie of the Week type mafia movies, straddling the line too close in favor of making the mobsters look "cool".

Anyways, I'm rambling again...

This is why I think the Mob is evil. I know obviously they are not all into disgusting shit , but apparently the bosses back then were alright with it as long as they got their share of the profit.
