Has it even been established or suspected by law enforcement that he knew Robert Pronge?

Law enforcement got what they wanted, put him away. Why would they waste the resources digging any deeper and trying to fill out a whole life profile for this guy?

The fact that he wasn't a made guy, wasn't an Italian, means that he was a "throwaway." And for that reason, may have actually seen or been part of some of the most shady of the shady dealings. It also means that he was probably involved in a lot of other things that never get mentioned or talked about. He puts things in "mafia" perspective, because that's what the media eats up, but the mafia are not the only people to utilize an accomplished free-agent assassin.

I think that a lot of what Kuklinski said was true, but he just sort of shuffled all the pieces around in a way to make it a more saleable product. Easier for the layman to understand. Sutff that could fit into a single book or a few TV interviews.

BS, infact, alot of what Kuklinski is UNTRUE. I love it in the first set of "ICEMAN" confessions when asked if he used a chainsaw for dismemberment he said "yes, it was quite messy" then in the second set when asked the same question he says "no, it was to messy". LOLOLOLOL

If you watch both sets, you can catch him in a BAZILLION lies. Fact is, this guy is not even CLOSE to the killer he claims, he simply associated himself with Roy Demeo because Roy had over 200 hits under his belt and in very hollywood grizzley fashion, something this dipshit wanted to do but couldnt or wouldnt. So what does he do? Leach onto the meanest nastiest SOB alive and THEN take credit for killing him so people will think he was the meanest nastiest SOB alive.

Joke, he is a f-ing JOKE

FatGirl:Your cute
Me:Ok
FatGirl:So you wanna buy me a drink?
Me:No
FatGirl:Why not?
Me:Well Its tricky pumpkin,If I buy u a drink, every fat girl in here would think I liked fat girls & ask me to buy them a drink also. See ,I dont like fat girls unless im wasted and given Im only one drink deep so far, so you better buy me the drink honey, cause this 20 bucks aint covering the booze and drive thru ill need to take you home tonight

It's funny that you know for sure something is a "fact", instead of just you're oppinion. wink

What's even more funny is that you claim Kuklinski is a bullshitter (and he probably is) but you DO believe that Roy DeMeo killed "200" people...

That's EXACTLY the same bullshit.

but you DO believe that Roy DeMeo killed "200" people...

I'm with Jvanley on this one.
The exact number of DeMeo crew victims will never be known but the FBI estimate it to be between 75-200.
200 is maybe a slight over reaction though.

THe thing that makes ME believe the rumours about DeMeo is that DeMeo never talked himself - everything that is known about him comes from third parties (Dom Montiglio, Vito Arena and Freddie Dinome).
Crimes alledged to be the handiwork of Roy and his gang have been verified.
Most of Kuklinski's claims have not.
Some smell so bad that the bullshit is obvious.
Like when Kuklinski claimed he killed Jimmy Hoffa in Michigan and then drove all the way back to New Jersey with him in the trunk!!!!
Michigan has plenty of lakes and woodland - who in their right mind would drive half-way across the USA with a body in their trunk and risk a highway patrolman pulling them over?

I'll believe DeMeo rumours over Kuklinksi rumours anyday

Estimated, indeed.

It's never verified they killed 200 people. Speculation at most.

No it hasnt been verified that Roys crew killed 200 but knowing what we know about them it wouldnt be impossible.

Off the top of my head, DeMeo crew murders that have been pretty much verfied as true.......

Vinny Govonara (guy who broke Nino's nose)
George Byrum (Florida electrician)
Eppolito's (father and son)
Frank Amato (Big Pauls stupid son in law)
car thief Anthony Quinn and his teenage girlfriend
Chris Rosenborg
Danny Grillo
Mickey Spillane (Jimmy Coonans rival)
Frederick Todaro (porn film boss)
Joe Brocchini (made guy in another family who punched Roy in a row over porn)
Andrei Katz (guy who bought a stolen motor off Chris Rosenborg)
The Vacuum cleaner salesman who Roy thought was a Cuban hitman

I just pulled those quickly from my mind.
Most have been verified by a 3rd party or at least have a degree of credibility.

Roy DeMeo most definitely killed tens of people, maybe up to 75. I never said he didn't. wink

But the higher the number, the less likely it becomes.

Really looking at Kuklinski, can anyone really say that he was convicted of a hit where a hitman of any kind would have been employed?

Some have pointed out that all of Kuklinski's verified kills were simply of business associates and/or underlings. There is no evidence he was ever employed to take out a ranking principal in the underworld by greater powers than himself...or is there?

A serial killer? Maybe. A hitman? Not impossible, but still dubitable. What professional killer would be busted for the 6 or 7 killings of small time criminals Kuklinski was convicted of?

Someone on this thread asked questions about the movie in the works for Kuklinski, that Mickey Rourke was supposed to play him, etc. Now we all know that the movie was finally made, with Michael Shannon in the starring role.

My pipe dream was that David Chase would do a movie about the Iceman, with Gandolfini playing him.

"...the successful annihilation of organized crime's subculture in America would rock the 'legitimate' world's foundation, which would ultimately force fundamental social changes and redistributions of wealth and power in this country. Meyer Lansky's dream was to bond the two worlds together so that one could not survive without the other." - Dan E. Moldea

Some of the notable hits I recall from his fantasy book

-He was dealing with a guy and whacked him to free a bunch of kidnapped kids whom he opened the door and set them & told them to run

-he took part in the John Favara killing with Gene

-Demeo sent him to whack a drug kingpin in Brazil. Claims despite getting lost he somehow found the place and finished them all off.

in the book "murder machine" it spells out many of the demeo gangs killing, and in the book they estimate 75-200, of course Rosenberg, testa, Borelli, and senter did many on their own, many not eve3n mob business, cheri golden for example, demeos killers were plain, and simple homicidal maniacs. so 200 could be accurate,

also, I read the book iceman, and saw the movie, kuklinski was copying porno flicks for demeo, so maybe demeo used him, but he had enough shooters of his own. so kuklinskis claims of being a mob hit man I take with a grain of salt,
also in the book he claims to have taken a mob hit, for 20,000 and gave the victims head to a mob guy, highly doubtful, like many of his claims.

Where is the evidence of the bolded? I've never seen any connection between Kuklinski and the Demeo crew confirmed, other than that he bought a gun off of Freddy or Richie Dinome i think it was once thus he was photographed outside the Gemini club. As far as i'm aware none of the informants connected to the Gemini crew, Richie Dinome, Vito Arena, Dominick Montiglio, etc, ever made mention of Kuklinski. Until i see some evidence of a connection i'm not willing to believe he had anything to do with the crew.

He claims in the book he set up a video camera in a cave and came back the next day or whatever and it had recorded rats eating the guy alive. He gave the tape to whatever mob boss it was.

How do you run lights to a cave? What year was that the 80's...battery life is only a couple hours on camcorders even in 2016.

It wasn't a camcorder silly. It was a regular camera that had some kind of motion detector. I remember reading that book and thinking "holy shit, here are all your unsolved big hits". Then I got to the Galante hit or Hoffa hit and felt so stupid for believing all of the previous stories and put tbe book down. They should've fiven him the chair.

strange about his murder, he was poisoned in prison, and some writers believe he was going to testify at a trial involving made guy, before he was murdered.

I know that you just said he was poisoned in jail meaning you haven't bothered to look into it yourself and that you are inclined to buy into ridiculous stories because they sound entertaining. Which to me means you are complete garbage when it comes to discussions here, it is pretty embarrassing that morons like you go unchecked here now, shows how far this site has sunk.

I agree, while watching his interview I thought here is a guy getting the most value he can.
Way over the top with his hit stories. Potrayed himself as an evil genius James Bond.

One thing is certain though, he was one sick puppy.

When I was a kid, I had a band and once in a while got a gig in the Gemini Lounge..roughly 38 years ago. If Kuklinski was there, I wouldn't even know who he was..The owner/manager would come up to us and say.."can you play louder"...Calabro was a revenge murder by his 1st wife, who was found dead. Her Family had heavy mob ties. Gravano gave Kuklinski the contact.
