My Idea For GF4

As we all know the time between mary's death to michael death there was a 17 year gap and i think that done for a reason. I would like them to make the 17 year gap. There are so possible stories that could be made. what do you guys think?

I heard that Garcia was gonna be the boss, while Pacino was his advisor. Garcia was to take more to street level with drugs as his scheme, kinda like a Joey Merlino type character.

Since it has been established that michael lost his eyesight when mary died, GF4 can deal with how michael learned braille.

I think that's an excellent idea, svsg. Michael still proclaims to desire to leave "the life" behind, but just like in 3 when we see his attempt to ascend the throne of the conglomerate Immobiliare, in 4 we see his bloody (and, bumpy ) climb to the tops of the Helen Keller-Stevie Wonder Immobiliare.

Great ideas - but do you think it will really happen? Reading up on net articles, looks like because of the death of M. Puzo, there will be no Godfather IV. Also, interviews with Capollo reveal the same info. Would be great to have a remake - how can we persuade the powers that "B" to do it? Anyone have any connections....comments fine, but w/out power to do anything, mostly just hot air. As a writer/editor, I think previous thoughts on the new IV (via net articles) sounded good, but what about really twisting the plot to make it possible for a V, VI and so on. What would Puzo want, who would carry on with his ideas.... Anyone read the book? That's the starting place, with the young ones carrying on the family name (plot involves family) - Vinnie might fare better with a real Mary (also Anthony) - why not "resurrect" Mary, per Vincent's secret. Remember that everything is done in secret and your enemy's cant know what you are plotting or thinking....think about that one!

You have to think that once Mary was killed, Michael wants nothing to do with the family business. I think that could make for some good drama if there is ever a Part IV but it would be hard to make it live up to the standards of the first two, maybe three, films.

There have been so many negative opinions about the plot of GFIII expressed that filming a GFIV seems risky from a plot view. There was continuity between I & II, but as many have expressed, III was a contrivance. Would IV escape contrivance that goes beyond what one normally expects from fiction?

With GF4, The story would revolve around Vincent Mancini. And from a motion picture stand point, Michael died at the end of part 3. I think they should probably leave it at that. Unless there is a script so good and so logical that it has to be added. Continuity is also very important.

Sollozzo's descendents appear, hell-bent on vengeance. More an action picture than a drama.
