Godfather IV Script. - 01/06/07 06:34 AM

The Godfather IV Screenplay.

I'm currently finishing up a screenplay I've been working on for my version of THE GODFATHER IV.
The story will have many flashbacks to Vito Corleone's rise to power, Sonny when he was young, and it also has many flashback in Michaels life. It will also show us the late stages of Johnny Fontane's life.

The story will continue the story of the Corleone's 3 years after the death of Mary Corleone. The movie opens in Las Vegas, with a party and new characters have been added, such as Nick Neri who's Consigliere for another family who want to assasinate Vincent. Michael won't be the focus of the story as much has the previous movies, although I will show his life in Sicily before he died. Characters such as Andrew Hagen, Anthony Corleone, and Connie will take much bigger roles. Johnny Fontane will also play his biggest role in a Godfather film yet in my script.

The timeline I'm planning is 1984-1999.

The script will be well--pretty long. 200 pages, I bealive.

Expect ACT I, in a couple of days!

I look forward to seeing Vito's rise to power and the younger life of Sonny, something I have written about myself!

Re: Godfather IV Script. - 01/08/07 05:13 PM

Can't wait to read it. I've been working on a script myself for a while now but it is no where near ready to be posted.Right now I've been researching the mafia connection to casinos in the bahamas as well as the savings and loan scandals involving the CIA. Whereas Vito and Micheal had judges and senators, I was thinking of Vincent getting into the narcotics business and having members of the CIA in business with him. He would take the CIA's dirty money, along with his and open banks and real estate companies as well as put money into the casinos and hotels. In exchange for this the members of the CIA involved would use on of their plane companies as well as pilots to transport weapons and drugs to and from South America. The Corleone family would serve as brokers in that they wouldn't be involved in the distribution, other families would. I haven't completed it but that's one of the angles of the story. We all know that we have to have at least two or three enemies of the family for the movies.

I too have wriiten a Godfather Part IV script and it will focus on the Corleone's happiness and rise to power, comparing against the sadness and the downfall of Vincent. My script is also no where near posting.

UPDATE

I'll be posting ACT I on Saturday, Janurary 13th, 2007. ACT II, should follow a couple of days later.

Some changes have been made in ACT I and instead of opening the movie in the mid 20's it will open in 1983.

Nope, this doesn't have anything that happens in Mark's novels.

You should have Johnny pursuing Conny. As much as she melts and drools whenever he is around.

Fade out.

Fade in:

EXT. Las Vegas, Day.

We fade in to the beautiful city of Las Vegas; we also see a close up view of the BELLAGIO HOTEL.

INT. BELLAGIO HOTEL, LAS VEGAS, DAY.

There is a huge party in the presidential suite of the BELLAGIO HOTEL, women are dancing, while the men sing, and the kids run around the room playing. Connie is having a drink and watches her daughter dance in the middle of the room, with the other girls.

Dissolve to:

INT. Vincent Corleone’s Office, day.

Voice:
What do you think, Don Corleone?

We now show the face of Nick Neri.

Vincent Corleone is sitting on the chair behind the desk.

Vincent:
The Corleone’s will never be involved in this drug business; I can not accept your offer.

Nick Neri:
Al Neri, sent me here personally, he guarantees you everything here will be safe. We are talking about millions of dollars here.

Vincent:
Tell him we aren’t interested, I’ll do legit business with him, but this no. When we gave him his own family, we didn’t give it to him to get himself involved in drug business.

Nick Neri:
Everyone is involved in it now-

Vincent:
We aren’t interested; tell him to forget about it.

Nick Neri gets up.

Nick Neri:
Don Neri is a man who likes to hear about bad news immediately, so I will leave you now.

Vincent gets up and walks over to Nick Neri.

Vincent:
It’s been nice talking to you, bye.

Vincent and Nick Neri shake hands. Nick Neri exits the room.

CUT TO:

INT- Little Italy- 1928- Night.

Vito and Carmella Corleone are celebrating 20 years of marriage. They have invited many friends. There children Santino, Fredrico, Miguelo, and Constanzia, are running and playing around with the neighbors kids.

A big, but short man walks over to Vito. The man is Clemenza.

Clemenza:
Today’s your special day, eh? I wish I was married for twenty years.

Vito:
Thank you for coming.

Clemenza:
I wouldn’t miss it for the world; anyways I need to talk to you.

Vito:
Sure, sure.

Vito gets up slowly, he takes a sip from his drink, and he follows Clemenza to a room. They enter and close the door.

Clemenza:
I got you a new man; he is willing to help out.

Vito (annoyed):
Clemenza, Clemenza, Clemenza. Does this look like a time to talk about this? I thought you where going to give me a present or something.

Clemenza smiles, Vito walks over to a desk at the far corner of the room, he sits down.

Vito:
Is he here?

Clemenza:
He is waiting outside.

Vito:
Bring him in.

Dissolve to:

Int. - Las Vegas hotel, day.

As the party continues outside, Vincent walks over to the couch where Michael Corleone is seated.

Vincent:
How you feeling Uncle Mike?

Michael:
Not so good.

Vincent:
What happened, it’s not like I made that deal. It’s still legit, just as you wanted.

Michael:
Casino’s and doing business in Las Vegas is not legit, Vincent. But I don’t care anymore, I’m just here for a couple of more days, I’m going back to Sicily.

Vincent (surprised):
Sicily? Why so early?

Michael:
I don’t want to have anything to do with the family, I’ve had enough.

Vincent:
Not even one more time?

Michael:
What do you mean?

Vincent:
Uncle Mike, I want you to be my consigliore.

Michael:
Consigliore?
(Smiles)

He shakes his head.

Michael:
I have retired; I don’t need the family to be involved anymore.
(Beat)
Enough is enough.

Vincent:
I understand……
(Pause)
Do you know Kay’s here? And Tony too.

Michael:
Yes. I’ll leave you now, and go see them for a couple of minutes.

Re: Godfather IV Script. - 01/23/07 02:26 AM

Honestly it uses some of the same language and scenarios of the original movie. Come up with new scenarios and plots and write it in your own voice instead of trying to mimic other characters that came before them.

Make it original, make it unique, what you have now is a cheap imitation.

Re: Godfather IV Script. - 01/29/07 08:22 PM

It's very similar to another film. I'll try to change it, adding a new story, and using other places, other characters... It's my point of view

Re: Godfather IV Script. - 10/27/07 11:51 PM

Okay...

After about a six month delay, I'd like to announce that I've once again began writing my own IV script. But this time with a lot of changes.

The new script will start off in the late 20's to the 30's. I'll also write about Vincent's struggles years after becoming the Don, and Michael's life in Sicily before his death.

Expect more to come in the coming days.

Re: Godfather IV Script. - 10/28/07 02:44 AM

Thanks...

I'm still plotting out the basics of the story. And so far, I think it's great. But before starting on the script, I'll read THE GODFATHER, for the first time, and see if their is anything from their I can use in my script.

But I'll be posting the outline of most of the script in the coming weeks.

Re: Godfather IV Script. - 11/13/07 08:56 PM

I stopped reading a little bit through it because of the copycat style from the movie dialogue. "Don Neri is a man who likes to hear about bad news immediately, so I will leave you now. "

And the drug business thing.
