An Idea - 01/09/03 02:14 AM

Heres one of the scripts i have in mind. This is just a summorisation of it.

Don Vincent Corleone, the head of the once most powerful mafia. The year is 1984. Vincents uncle and mentor Michael Corleone still gives him advice though he is retired. Michael is still very somber about the death of his beloved daughter Mary. Five years ago, she was murdered. A man named Donnie Zaza is a close relative of the man Vincent killed named Joey Zaza. The plot stirs when Donnie Zaza completes military training he will use to kill Vincent. Battle breaks out back and forth as Vincent's men hurry fast to find Donnie. But Donnie kills off his men 1 by 1 as he gets closer to Mr. Corleone. Al Neri is retired and living near Michael in Sicily but Zaza captures him and threatens to kill him. Will Vincent find a way to save Neri? As time runs out and Donnie clips one guy after another to get to Vincent and finish his vendetta...

Mary was killed in 1980, not 1979.

GF3 took place in 1979. Didnt it?

It did. But I believe that it went on into 1980 and that is when Mary died. Turnball's help would be...well...helpful.

SC, can you help us? Do you know what year Mary died? Was it 79' or 80'? I thought it was 80' even though the first half of the movie takes place in 79'.

The DVD timeline states Mary died in 1979. All of the (famous) real life events portrayed in Part III around the time of Mary's death happened in 1978.

The Immobiliare hearing took place in November, 1979, and apparently Mary died a few months later, so it appears to be 1980. But then again the poster for Anthony's opera makes it look like it was March, 1979, even though the opera opened after the Immobiliare hearing.

You choose.

Thanks SC. I don't like the DVD timeline. It says that Apollonia died before Sonny.

Your deductive reasoning is right, but look carefully at the poster for the opening of the opera. It states the current season as "1978-1979".

Vercetti's right -- Michael said to him "call yourself a Corleone" (or whatever) when he made him Don...

Oh, sorry, that was on-topic

Re: An Idea - 01/11/03 08:01 PM

check out some of the earlier threads in this topic, probably around Oct? Random House was taking outlines from authors for a Godfather novel sequel which was to be possibly made into a movie. But since then, I have heard nothing about it.
