I must say that The Godfather Part IV is a terrible idea. It would just do damage to the Corleone saga. Which need no more damage.

I know. if they make part4, everybody will think about part5, and so on.

Part 5! Well, it would probably be rubbish, would be Part IV, but then again it could become an Oscar-winning masterpiece! It's happened before. You have a sequel to an original that is crap, thensuddenyl along comes another sequel that EVERYONE BELIEVES would be crap but is great!

There needs to be a part IV!!!! Who cares if it makes it look bad... part III did... We could just ignore the part IV if it is bad..

Well that is why there NEEDS to be one! I think the directors or whatever would notice how badly III sucked and would not lean that way again.

There is no reason to make another Godfather just because part III is proclaimed as bad.Do you keep going till theres a good one.Lets say part IV is not proclaimed as good,do you keep making another and another?

Hell no. The Godfather Trilogy, to me, beats any other trilogy, Three Colours, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, any. By making a FOURTH, what are they gonna do for new stuff? Mario Puzo is dead, so the creator of the Corleone's won't even be there!!! Part III WAS pretty bad, but how is it going to be any different from Part IV? And what time period? The rise of the Corleone's? Well you would have to have Vito and DeNiro and Brando are FAR to old for that role anymore. None of the old actors could return.

The Godfather Part IV is an aweful idea.

We've been deprived of a classic to keep the faith.

I think a chance should be taken with

No, there doesn't.
And we DON'T need it as something to see. We already have Parts I and II, and for some (who didn't find it an unrelenting bore)...Part III.
And for even some more...the Novel.

Nothing else is needed, and in fact would be a detriment to whatever came before it.

You could never make a Godfather 4, if you did then everyone would be expecting the greatest movie ever made. Then when they saw it people would lose respect for you and/or the series.

If they did it should continue with vincent. I think it should continue from where vio shot the dude.

Ok what if ther was no IV just (incase it would tarnish the legacy), but why not some new stories short stories or whole "lost years" kinda novels
(is there any fan fiction out there that's any good)?? Doesn't StarWars have multiple novels
(like more than the movies?)

I mean the characters are great and this would be alteast someway to keep it going.
