Hugh (Big Hughie) Mulligan was a top Irish mobster whose real strength lay in his ability to successfully penetrate and corrupt dozens of members of New York’s Police Department where he had close connections and friendships dating back decades with many members of New York City’s then Irish-dominated police force, which in turn helped grease the wheels for the Irish Mob as well as New York's Five Families.

And although Hugh Mulligan was very well known to the police, the prosecutor’s office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, he was scarcely known to the general public in the same way that many members of traditional organized crime families are as public figures.

If you remember, several months ago I mentioned I was working on a unique hierarchy chart and gallery focusing on New York's "Irish Mob," better known around the five boroughs in the old days as "The Arsenal Mob."

I also mentioned the revamping of our website necessitated us to put the project on the back burner, and revisit it once we relaunched. Well, the time is nearing, so over the next few weeks I'll dust it off and put the finishing touches on it.

So, for those of you who have been patiently waiting for the release of this expose', keep your peepers peeled. It won't be long now!
