This article from July 5th, 1987 discusses how with the recent defections of several mobsters and associates, the Outfit is being careful who they do business with.

Thanks @Rush

If you ask me, I think someone was either giving false info to the Chi Tribune back in 1987 or they were simply guessing, mainly because there were at least two induction ceremonies during the late 80s that we know about.

No problem Jimmy 2X!!!

So I reread the article and it states that there was a "temporary" hiring freeze being put in place. Therefor that makes more sense considering they eventually made new guys in the late 80's.

Solly D, DiForti, Scalise, Scarpelli, Chiaramonti etc...all were made during the late 80s.

Not Toodped, but I'm pretty sure he was confirmed at a ceremony in the late 80's at the Como Inn. Maybe 87 or 88. Could have my guys mixed up, but im almost positive he was one of the people who was straightened out at one of those ceremonies in the mid to late 80's.

Again, Solly was 100% made during the late 1980's according to another made informant i think....in fact, years or decades before Solly's interview, old time member Marshall Caifano made the same statement to the FBI regarding the Outfit being an alleged "simple group of gamblers" or something like that, meaning its some type of Outfit/Mafia thing aka statement for the feds and the general public lol
