Robert (Little Robert) Lino, Jr. released. - 02/26/24 12:38 AM

Because of a federal judge’s change of heart more than two decades ago, former Bonanno mob acting captain Robert (Little Robert) Lino, Jr. walked free from prison last week and checked into a halfway house after doing a near quarter of century of time for racketeering, stock scams and participating in a pair of gangland rub-outs related to Bonanno business.

“Little Robert,” 57, ran Wall Street rackets for the Bonannos in the late 1990s. He admitted to taking part in the murders of Bonanno mob associates Louie Tuzzio and Bobby Perrino in January 1990 and May 1992, respectively, as part of a 2001 plea deal. U.S. District Court Judge Nicholas Garaufis was at first ready to reject, but then changed his mind and allowed Lino. Jr. to cop to the two homicides and a 50-million dollar a year stock-manipulation conspiracy in return for a 30-year sentence.

Tuzzio, 25, was shot to death behind the wheel of a stolen Chevy in Brooklyn for botching a mob execution and accidentally wounding a Gambino mobster in the process of finishing off his target. Then-Gambino John Gotti allegedly called for Tuzzio’s slaying. Bonanno capos summoned Tuzzio with the promise of being made into the borgata, however a hit team riddled his car with bullets, killing him instantly ; he also angered Bonanno administrators by demanding a button and complaining his induction ceremony wasn’t occurring quick enough for his liking.

The 54-year old Perrino, the Bonanno’s boots-on-the-ground in their newspaper distribution racket at the NY Post for years and the son-in-law of one-time underboss Nicholas (Nicky Glasses) Marangello disappeared when Bonanno leaders worried he was getting too religious and they feared he was about to cooperate against the crime family. Per court testimony, Little Robert was a member of the clean-up crew on the hit and upon arriving for disposal duties, they realized Perrino was still alive and stabbed him to death with an ice pick. Twenty-one years later, authorities found Perrino’s remains on the property of a Staten Island construction company.

Very interesting news. Another guy who was a tough guy and an earner. When he was locked up, he was supposedly tight with Bruno and Johnny Joe

Took a plea deal but never ratted doing the time as a man, and this guy is old school thats for sure. Which is very rare nowadays. He's only 57 so I wonder if he will be back in the game once he leaves the halfway house. I'm sure the family would love to have him back in action.

Your thoughts Giacalone?

Given his history and his reputation, I would be very surprised if he retired. He was supposedly tied to the Albee Crisci beating. I remember reading that, but I can't find anything about his involvement online. Did Capeci report it? He may not have been involved, but I believe his name came up during the investigation. What we do know is that Lino was incarcerated with the alleged participants, namely Johnny Joe and Fabrizio DiFrancisci

Speaking of Fabrizio, he was released from a halfway house six days ago. He's another guy who is never going to change

Well if he didn't retire thats absolutely huge right now for the Bonannos. He was Capo when he went away, so at age 57 Im sure he's being considered for a huge role in the family once he returns to the streets.

As I said, this is very interesting news. We'll see what happens, but people shouldn't be surprised if his name started to pop up in future investigations or news reports

Johnny Joe and Fabrizio DiFrancisci were involved with the Crisci beating in Prison? to be honest, that was fucked up and wrong. That kid did not deserve that. He did nothing wrong and it was a total bully move.

They were calling him a rising star when they first indicted him in 2000. I remember the reports and the commentary that was going around during that time. This was when we had the old American Mafia forum. At just 33, Robert Lino was already a capo and a major earner on Wall Street, and someone who was considered a very capable individual. This guy is no joke

Didn't he disrespect Bobby Manna? Someone needs to refresh my memory when it comes to that damn beating lol. What was it about? If anything? I know who Crisci is and who he was with, but that's where my knowledge ends

It was over Total nonsense. His girlfriend or wife went on the mob wives show or some shit. They picked an easy mark and it was bullshit.

Some key guys are getting out for the Bonnanos in the next few years. It's kind of like what happened a few years ago with the Luccheses when they had a lot of made guys getting out around the same time bringing experience, authority and seniority to this family.
