Unlike Anthony Senter, Joey Testa may has some history with the current lucchese guys, thanks to his brother Patty who was close to Gaspipe Casso and was with the old Lucchese Brooklyn crew.

So perhaps, he could come back to the streets and have a place with the Lucchese family.

He's in halfway house from december 2023. He spent 34 of his life in prison,if Testa is a smart guy should understand that the times are changed and there are no more a cosa nostra and that is better that he will find a legal job. on May 15, 1990, James Cardinale, a former cooperating Government witness who did not testify at petitioners' trial, appeared on the television program "Larry King Live." In the course of his appearance, Cardinale alleged in effect that he had been induced by Government agents in the Southern District of New York to "coach" a Government witness, Mickey Featherstone, to make a false identification of petitioners at their trial. Shortly thereafter, in July, 1990, another Government witness at petitioners' trial, Joseph Bennett, Jr., telephoned counsel for petitioner Testa. In the call; and in a subsequent interview conducted by Testa's investigator, Bennett claimed, inter alia, that he had been induced by the Government to falsely implicate Testa in one of the murders that the jury found as a predicate act.

To paraphrase Ole’ Blue Eyes himself, velvet-voiced Frank Sinatra, “It was a very good year” for the notoriously bloodthirsty Gemini Twins. For decades, it appeared neither would ever see freedom after convictions on multiple homicide counts in the late 1980s.

Fast forward to the 2020s. And by spring 2024, both Gemini Twins will be back home in New York City before their 70th birthdays.

Lucchese crime family soldier Joey Testa, 69, was granted parole this week and is scheduled to land in a halfway house in April. In the weeks prior to Christmas back in December Testa’s best pal, fellow Lucchese button man, Anthony Senter, 68, was released and is in the process to reacclimating to life on the street following 35 years in the joint. Where the pair will fit into current Lucchese mob affairs, if at all, still remains to be seen, according to sources, although these sources say both Testa and Senter are in the good graces of Lucchese organization leaders.

As young, aspiring Goodfellas, Testa and Senter were dubbed the “Gemini Twins” because of their always being seen together out and about in the Big Apple together and being part of the ultra-violent Gambino mob’s Gemini Lounge crew of the 1970s and first portion of the 1980s. The Gemini Lounge crew was overseen by sociopath Brooklyn mafia chief Roy DeMeo. Later in the decade, Testa and Senter were inducted into the Lucchese crime family. The Gemini Twins and the Gemini Lounge crew as a whole were implicated in literally dozens and possibly hundreds of gangland homicides and convicted of several of them in federal court.

Testa and Senter began as teenage gofers for DeMeo’s surrogate son, Harvey (Chris DeMeo) Rosenberg. They ended up being involved in both the DeMeo and Rosenberg killings and tons of money-making rackets involving international car theft rings, bookmaking, juice loans and pricey murder for hire contracts. Although parole was abolished from the federal prison system long ago, if your case was filed prior to 1987, which Testa and Senter’s were, you remain eligible via a grandfather clause. That clause was their saving grace despite the objections from their victims’ families.

Rosenberg was slain in May 1979 in the wake of a quadruple homicide related to a drug-deal-gone-bad with a Cuban cocaine cell out of Miami. The Cubans blamed Rosenberg and the Gambinos instructed DeMeo to kill him to satisfy the Cubans demands, not wanting a drug war with the Cocaine Cowboys spilling onto the streets of Brooklyn. DeMeo reportedly stunned Rosenberg by shooting him in the neck as he sat down for their crew’s weekly Sunday night dinner and meeting at the Gemini Lounge. Senter is alleged to have delivered the kill shot to the back of Rosenberg’s head.

DeMeo’s body was found in the trunk of his Cadillac in the parking lot of a Sheepshead boat club in January 1983. Per court testimony and FBI intelligence reports, Testa and Senter shot DeMeo to death at a property owned by Testa’s brother Patty on orders of the Gambino brass via a contract accepted by Lucchese leaders in return for the Lucchese’s receiving DeMeo’s territory and the rights to the Gemini Twins for any future dealings.

By the way on his nephews facebook page numerous people are actually celebrating his release. Saying how happy they are that he is going to be a free man as if he was convicted of crimes he didn't commit.

First off, he didnt torture people. Second, bodies were cut up after they were shot dead.
I can guarantee botj Testa and Senter will want nothing to do with the circus clowns that are around today. When you reach a certain age, your mind changes and you look at things much differently. They will both probably live quiet lives with their families and you can forget about podcasts and interviews. I think Anthony will be living on long Island.

Testa and Senter was in the DeMeo crewcfrom 1970s to early 1980s and I doubt that didnt directly killed someone but according to Casso they killed DeMeo because Castellano put a contract to all crew members but he would give them a pass if would whack DeMeo and once in the lukes they killed reznikov a russian that threated marat bugula an associate involved in the gas scam.

The Gemini Crew weren't sadists, but they were bullies and the Street can be cruel sometimes. Off-hand i can think at least three occasions where they got a little weird. They fucked up Andrei Katz pretty badly before killing him and allegedly slapped him in the face with his own dismembered hand before crushing his head in cardboard compactor. The murder of pedophile Mikey "Muscles" DeCarlo who was beaten and murdered before having a sawed off broom handle crammed up his ass. The double homicide of Muhammad Daoud and Ronald Falcaro when Freddie DiNome got carried away during their dismemberment and stuffed Daoud's penis into his own mouth after cutting it off. Those acts were pretty gruesome but are they on the same level as Jeffrey Dahmer, I don't think so. Gaspipe tortured Jimmy Hydell for a long time before putting him out of his misery, cruel but not on par with true serial killers.

I’m also surprised both of these guys are getting out.
But I also believe guys who serve 25-40 years should get considered for parole and most are not given a chance.
I think the prisons are full of 70+ year old men that our taxes pay for while their families could be taking care of them.
