THE MOB BOSS OF NEW YORK'S “CAPITOL DISTRICT”

The next installment of Button Guys is gonna be good. In fact, its gonna be more than good…it’s gonna be epic!

It has taken us quite some time — years in fact — to fully research and accumulate all the important background information and historical data needed to create what we did. But in the end, we finally accomplished what we had first set out to do…

For over forty years this next fellow quietly operated largely unimpeded by serious arrests and imprisonment, which enabled him to ascend to the throne of what could only be described as the top racketeer and overall “kingpin” of the Greater Albany area, the so-called “Capitol District” encompassing Albany, Amsterdam, Ballston Spa, Cambridge, Clifton Park, Cohoes, Hudson Falls, Rensselaer, Saratoga Springs, Schenectady, Sharon Springs, Schoharie, Troy and Watervliet.

We plan to release it by mid-week…just in time for Christmas.

You’re not gonna wanna miss this one fellas!

Battaglia. He had more connections and not on a short lease like Leone and Sorriento. Syl is my number one pick. 1926 to 1970, he had a great run uninterrupted, after 1928 till Appalachian and even then he was not hit hard. Low key, his associations with the Falcone brothers, Mike Coppola, Tommy Lucchese, and Joe Magliocco brought some attention to him. It is thought that Syl and his brother Gus were two of the shooters in the Leg Diamonds killing.

You're talking about Sylvester Battaglia?

I gotta say that you definitely pulled a rare name there. He was a major "sleeper," thats for sure.

PS: But you know the rules Giacomo. Lol. I ain't gonna say yet. Lol. But kudos for that pick,

But here's one hint for you, ok, Giacomo.

"This guy was not part of the Steve Magaddino Family."

Salvatore Alvino a Genovese member based in Troy. Paul Dicocco a Bonanno member but he served time and was released in 1988 dying the following year. Vincent Robilotto a Gambino member in the area, retired after Big Paul was killed. Gene Campo and Charlie Lofaro are the only ones I can think of.

Giacomo, you're not quite standing on his doorstep yet, but you've definitely driven onto his driveway and your car is idling. lol

Good job...so far.

But now you gotta make your pick...Is it door #1, door #2, door #3...etc.

We've decided to hold off on releasing this biography until after Christmas, probably between Christmas and New Years Eve because it's a very extensive piece and we know that the days leading up to Christmas are very hectic for a lot of folks.

But it'll be well worth the wait folks...that we promise you.

The fella I was alluding to and hinting about was mobster Paul (Legs) Di Cocco. We posted his biography here last night, titled:

"Schenectady Mob Boss - Paul (Legs) Di Cocco"
