Luciano- the early years

Is there anywhere to get some good information on the early years of Luciano and Siegel etc? In the 1920s were they well known in the media? When did they become a force in the underworld? Wasn’t they big fans of the night life in New York? Where did they go? I’ve heard they was always with glamorous showgirls but never really read anything more than brief overviews of those early years.

Were they like a 1920s version of the BMF and big meech but in the prohibition clubs of New York?

Thanks for any replies would love to know more about them and also the nightlife of New York in the 20s

The so-called "night life" during the 1920's was somehow a tough thing to do for most of the "high level" gangsters, meaning it was the decade when many conflicts formed around the NY area which also affected other cities like Chicago. Mobsters were killed almost on daily basis.

He was also close to the Irish Owen Madden and Legs Diamond.

Jack Diamond was an interesting guy, anyone knows why he was killled? He survived several assassination attempts, earning him the nickname Clay Pigeon of the Underworld .Legs his nickname either refers to his dancing talent or to the fact that he often managed to escape from the hands of his enemies.
