Article On Frank Sheeran and His Claims On Hoffa - 05/23/23 01:12 AM

This is an article by Jack Goldsmith that completely destroys Sheeran's version of the disapearence of jimmy hoffa: https://www.lawfareblog.com/are-claims-new-film-irishman-true

Within days of the disappearance, Sheeran told close associates that he had not been in Detroit when Hoffa disappeared. He also later reported that Russel Bufalino instructed him to turn over evidence to the FBI confirming his whereabouts that day (which he did) because he did not arrive in Detroit till the 31.

Definitely reading this later when I have time because I could never stand Frank Sheeran and his lies.

Why the hell did Scorsese have to ruin one of his limited mob movies by choosing to base it around a likely bullshit figure?

With all the interesting figures in organized crime, Scorsese chose fucking Sheeran?

The best hypothesis of the movie ending I've seen:
The entire movie was imagined/told by an aging, dementia riddled, nursing home living fart
Therefore most of the events told are bullshit from Sheeran's imagination

The only bit of this movie I've seen is a YouTube clip of Deniros hilarious stomping of the shop guy.
It's so bad. https://youtu.be/h1KU1gp5Buo

Have never been able to get passed this scene. Ruined what was actually a pretty good movie, at least for me.

Didn't he say that he killed Crazy Joe Gallo too? Lol. The guy was off the reservation, and just trying his best to sell a book

Sheeran is The Irish Iceman.

I believe Goldsmith. His "In Hoffa's Shadow" isn't a comprehensive bio of Hoffa, but it has plenty enough good info to keep any reader informed. I don't think he even mentioned Sheerann in that book.

If I remember correctly, in the first edition of "I Hear You Paint Houses," Brandt said Sheeran told him he was in the house where Hoffa was killed, but didn''t pull thr trigger. Nor did Sheeran identify the actual killer, now thought to be Anthony "Tony Pal" Palozzolo.

The biggest strike against Sheeran is that no one who was directly involved in the crime ever spoke to the the FBI or the press about it willingly, not even to deny it (except possibly Briguglio). And why would they? They are in secret organization. This may get you killed. Also, Sheeran does not fit the profile of someone who would be part of this hit. Finally, Goldsmith's book serves as a convincing exonaration of O'Brien. It can be certain that he was not directly involved, though I still don't believe O'Brien's story completely. As for Sheeran, the interesting thing is that, within days of the disapearence, he was seen with mob figures directly connected with the disapearence. This is suspicious to me. I do not think he was involved but his meeting with these people is not fully explained. Why would he be seen with them? He was openly pro-Hoffa. What would they need to be telling him? I suppose we will never know!!!

Fact or Fiction? "I heard you paint houses" is a great read if you are interested in the notorious Teamsters.

Sheeran made up most of what he said, but he did it without harming anyone still around. He was out to make money before he died. I don't believe him, especially on the Gallo hit, but was not so bad. He told fiction as fact without being a rat.

Goldsmith is also convinced that the FBI knows who killed Hoffa. Some of the Hoffa FBI files have been partially released under Freedom of Information lawsuits filed decades ago by the Hoffa family and the Detroit Free Press newspaper, but the vast majority of material remains secret.

That's what Goldsmith says but does the FBI really know? The issue is that there is no evidence of the the actual murder. The man Goldsmith claims The FBI knows did it was Tony Palazollo. He was bragging on wiretap that he was involved. Tony Zerilli, a high ranking member of the Detriot family, named him as part of the hit team in 2013. The issue is Zerilli's story never fully checked out. I am satisfied Tony Palazollo was part of the hit or clean up crew. But we can never be 100% certain. The best candidate for a shooter in the Hoffa case is actually Vito Giacalone whose presence in the hit team best makes sense given all the circumstantial evidence. I think he was there that day and probably personally killed Hoffa or directly assisted the murderer(s) in what must have surly been a 2-3 men job. My guess is if anyone where to be indicted for the actual murder it would be the 2 or 3 guys who abshushed him (much like the Castellito case).
