Funny thing about him is that these days as a weaselly rat YouTuber he's looking more like a wiseguy than when he actually was a wiseguy. As a young up-and-comer he looked like a complete dork and in his last 2019 court pictures he looked like he just got busted in some Bakersfield meth lab while cooking for the Nazi Lowriders.

What you have to understand is Arrilotta is a hitter himself. Yall acting like because he ratted he's not still a shooter if challenged. It reminds me a tiny bit of that guy Alpo. Everyone is quick to call him rat, but didn't want smoke in the streets. Hate to keep bringing g up rappers, but Nipsey calling that guy a rat and getting killed like, immediately comes to mind....

I don't give a fuck if he killed as many people as Stalin, once you become a rat, none of it counts. The guy who never killed anyone but kept his mouth shut will always be the real gangster vs the one who killed 20 guys then flipped.

Anyone can be jumped, if planned well enough by the right people and carried out by right # of bruisers. No one is untouchable. I’m not even a criminal but I can think of plenty of ways that can be employed to send a message and not look like a bunch of asswipes.

Also, not doing anything because they're afraid of prison is what's killing the mob. Is it me or is it odd that those who disdain "Rats" now place them in levels of disdain? I would think that a 'rat" is a rat regardless and if you truly dislike them it's irrelevant the information they provide or the personality they have. They're a "Rat". I think by categorizing them you leave the door open to later rationalize someone for being a rat if you don't dislike that person as much as you may dislike Arilotta. Just my opinion.

I mean, you do make a fair point. Obviously Arillotta was/is a ruthless sociopathic sob. No doubt he was feared and no doubt the fact that he was hungry and - at the time - was a money-making machine made him a major interest of the Genovese family. He didn't get his button for nothing.
He was an earner that moved in different circles as compared to the low-level leg-breaking antics of for instance Borello and Alite, so he does have interesting stories to tell.

I can completely understand why there was so much interest in him as a young up-and-coming mobster, but I do feel they made a mistake in almost immediately getting him in charge of Springfield entirely. I get that the mob doesn't have an expert HR department, but they should've so to speak "tested the waters" some more.

My opinion that he's a scumbag is based on what I think of him as a person. Sure you can argue no mobster is an upstanding citizen and sure they're out for themselves, but I do feel there are degrees. And this includes the rats.

Oh.. make no mistake. I agree with you he's a nasty piece of work. But that's what I was kinda expecting...ya know?

Partly. 100%. Nigro was far from the sharpest pencil in the box. They had no business elevating a guy like that, who couldn't think properly. It opened the door for complete havoc in Springfield by allowing malcontents like Arillotta to start feeling their oats....So much for the So-called "Rolls Royce" of the underworld. lol

I never understood that move. They had a nice thing going on in Springfield and, for some reason, they whack the capo and turn it into shambles.

There are two things that was weird with this crew :

- According to Arilotta, Al Bruno didn't kick up any money to The Genovese administration. Every year, He would send a van full of italian liquors and product (worth around 25K) to New York for Christmas and that was it.

- When Arilotta was inducted, the Genovese did it behind Al Bruno's back. They didn't tell him and Arilotta didn't reveal it. He said that, at some point, Bruno figured it out but they never talked about it.

How does a mobster get made behind the back of the head guy in charge? He's illegitimate. Or should be considered so. Big Al should've just sent $25K, the mob likes cash, CASH!

He’s def not fully explained the story but sounds like the attempted murder he did was an order from the Bronx not from Bruno and therefore he ended up getting made in the Bronx. Different to how we normally understand the process of being inducted but when your own capo doesn’t even know maybe that’s an insight of how that family does things so differently
