John Gotti brokered a peace agreement the feud could have been worse, Salemme loyalist Nicholas Bianco became boss.

How someone 1/2 Irish could become the top dog in the Italian LCN, is baffling to me.
Only because he comes from the true blood era.
I understand that NOW, only the father has to be Italian.

In American mafia it's common they marry non italian girls.
Capone married Mae Coughlin, a very Irish girl, in 1918.

Yes Hollander, I do believe you're correct in that. (I can't swear to it, but I believe that I read something similar somewhere)...I don't know if its true, but I do remember something to that effect.

In general, it's a different world today, a more blended world. The same holds true (to an extent) in Cosa Nostra. Thats why you see that. So many intermarriages. Years ago that would have never happened.

Talk about a man’s man. But I don’t believe he’s active anymore. He may still be in the seafood business? Not sure. I’ve seen him many times with his family at restaurants in providence.

I knew Mello from a Portuguese girl I dated in the early to mid 90's, he was uncomfortable to be around, she was a dancer at the Foxy Lady and lived in Dartmouth, Ma.
There's no way he went straight and I think they took all his boats, he had no other skills, I remember, someone dubbed him the Cod-Father back then.
I never saw him with Salemme but this stripper did on numerous occasions. I was only in Frank's presence twice both times at the channel in South Boston when it turned strip club, maybe around 90/91.

I believe that he and his henchman (Bruno or something?) were responsible for the elimination of the two guys who previously ran Fall River (Savitch was one). Probably on Salemme's orders.
