Am I the only one annoyed with "Mobtube" drama?

I'm 43. I've always found the mob stuff fascinating so when youtube came along it was great. A fountain of info and rare content previously unavailable to the general public. Franzese was probably the first "mob-tuber" that I watched. Then I came across Adam and Frank Cullotta (Adam being the most likeable mobtuber for me). Great content seeing Im from Chicago. Then I came across Sammy's channel and Calandra's channel. Ok, this is interesting. I'm liking hearing these stories from these guys. Then, the stupid beauty shop drama begins....

As the months go by, the youtube algorithm is taking it's inevitable control, and it's feeding me obscure "mob" channels that are hosted by a bunch of John Q. Publics. Lee Cole. Who? Who the fk is this guy? Jeff Canarsie. Huh? Jeff who? Canarsie like as in Brooklyn? Who the fk is this guy? I dunno, but so far, these guys are coming off as wannabe mobsters. Fat Bald Sicilian. Now who the fk is this guy? Man, no offense, but this dude is such a wannabe gangster and he reminds me of so many BS'ers I used to grow up with. His content is nothing but cat fights between other wannabes and even the real mob guys like Calandra, Sammy, Alite (if u wanna consider him a real mob guy), etc etc.. getting into these high school-esque squabbles. And his videos are like over an hour long. Ive never watched an entire video.

I've got TONS more to say, (especially about a segment I saw FBS ranting against that other shmuck, MRE, about who's more Italian and yada yada. Anyone else wanna chime in and give their opinion of the beauty shop little bitch drama known as "MobTube"?

A friend of mine sent me a couple of these videos. I thought he was kidding about people like this existing lol. I was gonna listen to a couple of minutes but then wound up listening to hours of this mess. It reminds me of the Johnny Depp Amber Heard trial where everybody involved is a fucking lowlife scumbag. This FBS guy reminds me of someone I used to bully in high school and Angel Gotti is beginning to sound like Renee Graziano during a grueling detox. Her father must be so happy he's dead

There are way too many out there. I actually like Angel Gotti's, but I have seen her video liked Franzese in the beginning. Vlad tv was good at first but has sunk. There is only so much to say, after a while they all just put up content because they feel they have to in order to keep going. What are thoughts regarding the comments under videos praising them? I sincerlly think most are fake, generated by a very small group along with the podcasters themselves.

Actually guys like Sammy por Franzese still have tons of good stories to tell but as you said they always talk about the same stuff.

They have their own reasons though : Sammy is building his brand and he came up recently on the media scene so he started with his main story, which is covered in his book. In his podcats, he mentions sometimes some new stories which are interesting.

Franzese doesn't want to talk too much about his interactions within the Colombo Family, which I think is the most interesting part of this story. I am sure he has some interesting stories to share about guys like Gerry Lang, Andy Mush, Jimmy Angelino, Nicky Black...

For a hot minute, they were entertaining and various levels of fascinating.

Upon more exposure, they out themselves as the total fuckheads they really are.

I feel the same, it was the over saturation of them that ruined it. Along with all the know-nothings coming out of the woodwork to do theirs. Franzese is an example of one who had a few good stories, but after telling them could not stop so he started making stuff up. Alite was a disaster IMO right from the start.

I just think they all lie through their teeth or greatly embellish most of what they say. Sammy is the hero at the end of all his stories, Franzese is such a sanctimonious blowhard, Cullota is a grifter that has capitalized off being friends with Spilotro. He was never an official member of the outfit, and I'm sure he may have been around a few heavy hitters through Spilotro, theres a 99.9999999% chance none of them really knew who he was. Alite and Borello are by far the worst. At least with Sammy and Michael, they were well respected made men in their day.

Franzese comes off as likable and is very good at telling bs stories...Unfortunately he keeps repeating the same stories over and over...Gas, my sister and brother were junkies, other then that, what's he got ?? BS stories that Chin asked him to switch families which is comical...

I like Gravano's channel better, you can see when he bs's but its not 25 minutes of bs....But he's what, 75 years old now...He's repeating the same old stories as well

I don;t think I've ever seen seen the video with Angel Gotti you're mentioning, but I used to think she was one of the respectable ones from the family until I saw that episode where she said the next door told her mother ''Wtf was he doing in the street to begin with''

I meant separate videos DiLorenzo, hers and his are separate. They have not discussed each other, as far as I have seen. Hers are very amateurish, which makes them alternate between likable and unwatchable. She is funny at times.

Agree with you all , I do think however Jimmy Calandra keeps it real and tells all those horseshit phoney fucks to get da fuck outa here.

I can tell you that the stories He tells I remember a lot of them
Some of people were my friends or I was friendly with.

And he def is not lying or exaggerating.

The way he describes the neighborhood growing up is spot on.

Calandra was very young guy who was around for an extremely short time, and that was on the fringe of things. He is another who has run out of things to talk about. Pennisi is becoming the worst, I think FBI agents write his material for him. He seems smug, as if he is flaunting his rat status. He often throws in a short lecture saying "See, the life is bad.." Yet he was in it and loving it for years till his mental breakdown, or whatever it's called when a man says his mother's ghost made his room shake as her spirit communicated to him to leave the mob and go to the feds. Does anyone have his exact story on that one?

Haha Calandra was an utter nobody in the street. He was barely even a fringe player. His so called career in the street ended in '93 when he was 23. Think about that for a second. Yet he's got stories that make it seem like he was on the street for 50 years

Say what you will about Jimmy but he grew up in the heart of Bensonhurst, had countless interactions with made men from the Five Familes and bore witness to a lot of Mafia history first hand. He used to shovel snow off of Nino Gaggi's driveway and was face to face with Tommy Pitera and that's probably more than most people can say.

Plenty of people who lived there or who grew up there could say the same, he has very little to offer. If he did 3 or 4 videos that would have been it, he is stretching it out.

Sure, but they don't have podcasts and he does and he has 30k subscribers so apparently some people want to hear what he has to say. He brings on some interesting guests too, whom you get to talk too about their participation in historical organized crime events.

Maybe Calandra will say Carmione Persico wanted him to join the Columbos and be an underboss. His subscribers will jump to 40 k. It would not make him any more credible.

You have a bizarre obsession with he Gotti's, especially the non-mob ones like the daughters. I have not seen Angel Gotti talk of Favara, maybe she did. Consider they may be right on Favara, you can't possible know.

I noticed that the ex-cons with their prison stories have more followers than the mob videos. I was surprised about that.

I saw one of his videos and did not like him, so I searched on Youtube and was surprised how many people are claiming he is a fake.

. I agree. They repeat too much stuff. When it cubes to Sammy I’m not interested in the Gotti stuff because we’ve heard it so much. When he talked about the Johnny Keys hit that interested me much more even though I already knew about it from the book. Same thing with Franzese

Not sure why the fact that he was 23 when he got jammed up somehow counts against him.

Back then the older guys in the neighborhood were always recruiting the youngsters.

One of the reasons was because if you were under 16 when you got arrested
all that would happen was that a parent or a guardian had to do is pick you up at the police precinct and you were issued a ticket to appear in court.

So you were in and out and right back on the street most times within a few hours.

So the older guys would have the teenagers:

Sell Weed from weed spots.
Steal cars.
Break windows
Slash Tires

Etc….

At days end that’s how you got your start in the LCN farm team.

Some kids like the bath Ave boys because they had the backing of a homicidal maniac “Tommy Karate” and later Anthony Spero, ran with it.

My point being he started out early but had more than just a couple of years on the street.

From what I seen Jimmy isn’t trying to say he was made like Larry Mazza, who never was, Jimmy isn’t saying that Gotti checked in with him before the Castalleno hit like Alite.

From what I seen and heard he came on the podcast and says I was nothing and is real humble about it.

Back in the day if you had a beef with the Bath Ave Boys you were afraid for your life,
If you weren’t part of a crew or associated with a crew that had shooters on deck so you could stand up to them.

You were running to someone you knew for protection to squash your beef with the Bath Ave Crew.

I don't find Calandra to be a bullshitter. Generally speaking I think he keeps it relatively real. My only qualm with him (and all these podcasters to be honest with you), is that they only have some many "real" stories to tell (like anyone). At the end of the day each of them is doing their best to "stretch" out their shelf life.

Agreed and it is possible they start out sincere and honest and when the day comes they are out of content they start to use their imagination instead of memory to tell the stories.

Every once in a while I’ll get the urge to watch something Alite, it’s the whole “TRAIN WRECK” thing where sometimes you can’t help but watch the train crash.

To him this is just another street hustle
He has his “CUSTOMERS” he is working his “RACKET”
today it’s not drugs, it’s fake LCN stories.

So he is just playing the role they want him to play

I completely agree. And they pretty much all do it. For my money, Alite, Franzese, and Gravano are among the worst. Bullshitters one and all. But they know they're playing to an audience that generally has very little knowledge about their past activities, and even less knowledge about "the life" in general, so they feel safe to BS to the general public. As you say, for them its just another hustle.

Just remember one simple thing....one irrefutable fact. Each and every one of these cretins were, and are, remorseless RATS!

Im not sure when it started. It seems that Rosso started it but he's slowly exposing Jimmy. When Jimmy first put up his "prison visit" video, I watched it. The story seemed odd because it really had nothing to do with why they went to the prison to visit Tommy Karate. Then at the end he put up the photo showing him with Paulie G and Tommy in prison. I knew immediately it was fake because not only was it CLEARLY photo shopped, Jimmy used a common picture floating around of Tommy Karate that Ive seen multiple times. I also saw the photo of Paulie G. that he used, so i KNEW it was fake as fuck.

Then when Rosso busted him out, Jimmy edited the title of his "prison visit" video to include. "THIS IS ENTERTAINMENT". I noticed it the next day. Then Jimmy puts that video out claiming, "Oh, my master plan worked. All I wanted to do was trigger people and it worked!" DOES ANYONE BELIEVE THIS SHIT? Cmon, Jimmy. You got caught. Now everyone is questioning how many stories are true and how many are all BULLSHIT

So much for Calandra not being a bullsh#tter. He's a lying phony with no real stories to tell. Photoshopping pictures then getting caught and saying it was entertainment makes him a laughingstock.
