Correct @chin_gigante Especially with the old man having as much power as anyone in that family now.

I'd be surprised if Trucchio is still shelved

Jimmy Perrone was shelved by the Genovese family years ago.
Mario Cassarino was shelved by the Gambinos for trying to kill himself while in prison.
Anthony Grado was shelved by the Lucchese because was a junkie, now is in prison until 2027.

Shelving is not something the public knows about per-se
As it happens on a daily basis
Especially since killing is off the table for the most part.

Shelving does not happen on a daily basis lol. If it did, there'd be nothing left in less than two years. How were you at math in school?

You gotta think that Nicky Corozzo' has either retired or put himself on a shelf.

Great list, Furio. Have you or anyone else done a complete list of guys who died while shelved?

According to sources, at some point in the late 2000s, Magnafichi was “voluntarily” put on the shelf “in fear for his life.” He still lives in the greater Chicagoland area and has mostly been able to stay off the radar sans a 2013 arrest for the illegal discharge of a firearm by a felon.

*Magnafichi opened up about his thoughts on his Outfit days with blogger and Chicago mob expert Joe Fosco in 2011

i would completely discount magnifichi as a member or associate once he started talking on a website to fosco.
for the outfit an associate or member doesn't talk about anyone so openly.
i would doubt magnifichis activity in any criminal rackets post 2000.
i realize his father was close to john cerone...but that was decades in the past.

and c'mon the outfit aint got no shelf.

What about this list? There is another mobster John Cusumano listed as shelved.

joseph cusumano who was once based in las vegas.
i think he was the lone survivor from the spilotro days ran a restaurant later in life?
???murray ehrenberg??? never heard of this guy.
and the list was posted in 2013 it is just that names. irrelevant in 2022. someone posted a list of peoples names and its gospel?

i have put up more than a few charts/lists on this forum overtime and tried my best to research names. it helps when there is corresponding proof from different sources that confirms activity in OC.

I have a bit of interesting trivia regarding Joseph (Joey) Cusumano. He was born, raised, and operated out of NYC for many years. His "legit" job was as a bartender in some of the city's more popular watering holes, but he also operated as a bookmaker and thief. When he was in his early thirties he relocated out to Las Vegas where he hooked up with some Chicago guys and later joined the "Spilotro" crew....the rest is history.

He was also put in Nevada Black Book in 1989.

Furio i am not a fan of just lists of names.
some posters online feel that comprising a long list of criminals names is somehow proof of something.
maybe if the poster added territories they control or rackets they opertae and maybe rank in said organization.

an example that has long frustrated me joe "kong" cullotta is a name that has shown up in lists for well over a decade.
cullotta was never a power in the outfit! he may have owned a gaming company? he may have been associated with grand avenue?
i dont think he was any of these things but his name made it on to a list and then was added to every single outfit anything forever without any proof anywhere that he was any of the things some claimed.

i get the rush to be the first to have the best chart the most accurate with the best intell i am guilty of this as much as anyone.
but the way some of these court cases grind through the system it takes years to find out for certain who was who and what was what.
maybe its best to go back a few years and take a second look at some big cases and names and finally get the proof to re make some charts for these families.

its a process i have begun myself.

Meaning guys get put on and taken off the shelf and its not news worthy.
Daily meaning it happens and we have no way of knowing it happened essentially. (Unless a made guy flips)
The feds very rarely come out with this info because no one really cares.

Al Trucchio we think was put on the shelf 10 years ago he was a huge earner, his dad was and is very respected.
He spoke out of turn

Is he still on the self? We dont know.

Ernie Grillo was put on the shelf under Gotti
Was taken off at some point and then put back and then taken off

There are what 8 families left? Guys mess up all the time, they no longer get whacked when they mess up, those guys get put on the shelf.

Every year who knows there are probably a handful of guys that get put on the shelf, at the same time guys get taken off the shelf.

Nobody gets killed anymore so when people fuck up they get put on the shelf.

Its not like a murder where someone is dead.
If someone gets pinched there is a court case we know about it.
Its not really an event like a making ceremony that the feds are dying to find out about.

There is no foot print left of the event really.

So when I say it happens daily it is not a literal term its more figurative to describe it as a whole.
