Anyone have information on this dude, his name is Edgar Valdez Villarreal, he is an American from Texas who got caught up in selling weed when he was in his early twenties got in a bad traffic accident and killed someone in Texas, got off, then continued rising up as a weed dealer, got caught by DEA in Texas then fled to Mexico and became one of the leaders of a cartel in the Nuevo Laredo area of Texas. He eventually got caught in Mexico and sent to prison and now is in a US federal prison in Florida for next 49 years and I believe he is 49/50...anyways this guy lived a crazy life and as an American rose to the top of the Mexican drug cartels and was biggest drug distributor to the SE United States. I believe there is a movie coming out about him. His rise and amount of power rivals any mafia don in US History

He said that he spent $200,000 to make a film based on his life; however, he decided not to release the movie because it might reveal too much information about him.

His power was huge but short while many mafia dons dominated for decade on their organizations.

His story sounds interesting, I would like to se more info on him though. Too many are saying they were close to the cartels, same with so many coming out saying they were close to the Mafia or any other big group. If his story is mostly true it will be interesting to see as movie or series.

Watched an episode of "American Gangster" on REELZ channel on him; the guy had a good run and from being from Texas and an American to becoming a leader and hired gun for the cartel was pretty impressive

He is from the Beltrán Leyva cartel. Those guys had connections up to the Mexican government.
