What Price Providence by Gerard Ouimette

Has anyone read this?
Just finished reading it recently, very good book covers from the 60s to the mid 90s
Lots of good info on the Italians wiping out the Irish mob in Rhode Island in the 60s
Ton of info on John Gotti and his crew in the 70s and 80s and of course tons of good info on Patriarca Sr and Jr as well as Frank Salemme and Bobby Deluca in the 90s
Also talks about how him and Frank Rossi backed Ralph Natale to become Boss of Philly in the 90s and Vic Vacarone to gain power in the Cleveland Mob in the 90s
Ouimette was the real deal, a feared killer who was boss of his own crew and was an integral part of the Patriarca Family from the 1960s to the mid 1990s....

I've read it. He was the real deal. The weight he carried was felt everywhere. The part where they slapped him around at State Police headquarters, and how infuriated Raymond was when he reported back to him all bruised up.

There is a private Facebook group 'New England Organize Crime' that focuses on the history, but not current events. I think it is run by someone from the North End who has been in and around that life starting with Patriarca and the Angiulos. Gerry Ouimette is discussed with great reverence by everyone there. There are definitely family members of made guys that participate. It sounds like he was a stone killer too.

Years after Gerard's death, his apparent friend and former pro-boxer/independent biker CJ Nordstrom walks into a bar, gets confronted by HA John Remington with a glass to the face in the entrance, and then annihilates him with one hit followed by a stomp out. The guys who were drinking at the bar and jumped in to help CJ (mostly to stop the guys trying to help the 81 guy)are not bikers, they're mobsters, and I've been told they are from Ouimette's old crew, that they might even be blood relations and one of them might have Ouimette as his last name as well. I don't know for sure and I'm posting this to ask if anyone on here does know. At any rate, here's 30 seconds of gangster-as-fuck old white dudes who aren't scared of patch-wearing HA...they drag him into a corner and stomp him out. Anybody know more about these guys or who's left of Gerard's old crew? Thanks in advance, mr.white

Gerard and CJ were very close. Gerard backed CJ heavily in his boxing career and put him up in Vegas. CJ was also close with Johnny Ouimette. As far as the Bristol incident, I can't say whether or not there were Ouimette guys present or who exactly those guys were. From what I was always told, they were friends of CJ's who happened to find themselves in the middle of that.
