Buffalo remains an interesting topic. Are they "Buffalo" in name only? Do they have active people on both sides of the border?

Re: 2022-current mafia leaders ontario,canada. - 01/10/22 03:21 PM

Definitely active on Canadian side in Hamilton and possibly other parts of Ontario.
Joe todaro jr may have a close group around him still working some old rackets but without a current indictment who knows.

John ermin the international pres of the outlaws Mc is based in Buffalo and has worked with Peter Gerace Jr for over 10 yrs.

There isnt one. It's now a Siderno Crimine, not a Camerra Di Controllo.

In particular, we invite you to pay attention to Figure 2. and Figure 3.

As can be seen, the alleged Locale dependent on the mother-Locale of Sant’Onofrio is placed in the GTA (“one in Toronto”; “in a town near Toronto”; hence it would be one of the seven Locali rooted in this Area), but outside the Crimine of Toronto.

Indeed, although it had been promoted directly by Vincenzo Bonavota (therefore certainly before his death in 1997), the Locale in Toronto could not have been recognized at least until 2012, given that only in that year his mother-Locale would have obtained formal recognition in Calabria.

However, even later, the dependent Locale in Toronto could hardly have been admitted as its mother-Locale of Sant’Onofrio is located outside the territory of competence of the Crimine of Polsi within which instead the neighboring mother-Locali of Siderno, Gioiosa Ionica and Marina di Gioiosa Ionica are, as part of the Ionian Side (see Figure 1.).

Furthermore, the historical period itself may have played its part.

Indeed, following the Verduci’s murder (Apr. 24, 2014), we think that a split has arisen within the Crimine of Toronto. It would then be followed by the creation of a Crimine of Siderno (the existence of which, thanks to some interceptions by Italian police forces, is certain), reserved only and exclusively, as its very name suggests, for the Locali dependent on the mother-Locale of this town excluding all the others (see the second article of this series).

In any case, the links between Locali are the most varied, often and willingly outside the superordinate bodies, and obviously motivated generally by business reasons.

For example, in Calabria, one of them linked the mother-Locale of Sant’Onofrio and that of Gioiosa Ionica, both of which have, as we now know, a dependent Locale in the GTA

Cabrini even after reading all those detailed articles and they are great I have as trying to represent an accurate strength of Mafia in Ontario.
I know historically about past membership and even an alleged locale in thunder Bay once and a constant ref to another locale somewhere in Ontario.
But unless the boys in thunder Bay are the most secretive group in North America there ain't nothing there.
Hells Angels, street gangs from Ontario and independents operate in t bay.

In a big operation in 2011 Italian authorities were seeking suspects overseas, including one person in Toronto and seven in Thunder Bay.

Antonio Nicaso mentioned how not all 'ndrine are "operational" in the sense that some may only focus on providing refuge to other members on the lam.
So they must remain basically invisible. I could see Thunder Bay having a role like that.

The “Crimine of Siderno” and the global network that links Canada and the heart of Locride
The Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate reconstructs the dynamics of the branching of the 'Ndrangheta gangs in the rich province of Toronto
Published on: 08/10/2023 – 19:10

CATANZARO The “Crime of Siderno” is a network – a “blockchain” – that leads to the province of Reggio Calabria. In the latest report from the Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate, a large chapter is dedicated to the ramifications of the 'ndrangheta in Canada, the scene in recent years of a bloody feud which has seen opposing clans of Calabrian and Sicilian origin. An irresistible expansion, that of the 'ndrangheta in particular in the very rich Ontario, however inextricably linked to the "mother house" which is in the heart of Locride, the "local" of Siderno.

Dia's report
According to the Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate «Italian organized crime has also progressively taken root in Canada, in particular in the areas of Montreal (Cosa Nostra), Toronto and Thunder Bay ('ndrangheta), where it has assumed important positions in the illegal drug market, in extortion, usury, gambling, laundering of illicit proceeds and infiltration in the public procurement sector. In particular - the DIA investigators explain in the latest report to Parliament - the 'Ndrangheta clans have re-proposed a hierarchical-mafia structure in Canadian territory by establishing direct contacts with the major drug producers, becoming leaders in international drug trafficking, thanks to their widespread presence of affiliates around the world. In Toronto,

The “Siderno Crime”
During the "Canadian 'Ndrangheta Connection2" investigation, according to the Dia, "it was possible to understand how the 'Ndrangheta of Siderno, which has been established in Canada for many years, needs to resort to supranational command structures in order to govern at better complex structures in territorial areas very distant from the parent company. From the conversations captured, it was then possible to reconstruct the composition of the "Siderno Crime" - to be understood as the maximum expression of the 'Ndrangheta operating in Canada. These findings make it possible to ascertain that the territorial structure operating in Canada, referable as mentioned to the Siderno premises, is currently governed by an organism ("the Siderno Crime") made up of a plurality of subjects who, in order to preserve its operations with respect to the problems connected with the strong investigative pressure exerted against the 'ndrangheta in Italian territory, it is authorized to meet and take decisions also in foreign territory. The presence and operation of the 'Ndrangheta in Canada is also confirmed - Dia finally recalls - by an innovative ruling issued in 2019 by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, as part of the investigation called "Project Ophenix", conducted by Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CSFEU) of Toronto, with which, in fact, the 'ndrangheta was recognized, for the first time, as a criminal organization fully operating in that territory. Re: 2022-current mafia leaders ontario, canada. - 10/08/23 09:53 PM

There are three Crimine outside Italy.

Canada
Since the 1960s there has been a control room in Canada created by the Italian-American bosses of Calabrian origin Frank Costello and Albert Anastasia to avoid conflicts with the American Cosa Nostra [17] . It was discovered by Canadian law enforcement in 1968 but its creation dates back to at least 1962 [18] .

The first was chaired by Giacomo Luppino, from Hamilton , in 1962 , Michele Racco (alias Mike Racco), who died in 1980 , Salvatore Triumbari who was killed in 1967 , Filippo Vendemini, who was killed in 1969 , Rocco Zito (killed in 2016 by his son-in-law Domenico Scopelliti [18] ), Vincenzo Deleo and Cosimo Stalteri (died a natural death in 2011 [19] ) [20] .

In Canada , today, there are at least 9 clubs settled in Ontario , which belong to six areas into which the territory has been divided and which are subject to the " Crime" of Toronto [17] [21] .

The families are represented in a commission whose head in August 2008 was Angelino Figliomeni, and also called there, similarly to Calabria : Crime [22] .

Since 2005 Giuseppe Coluccio was a member , while Cosimo Stalteri was part of it from the beginning, when he emigrated to Canada in 1952 [19] .

Australia
In Australia in the 1980s, the Australian information services discovered the presence of an organizational coordination structure which included the main club leaders and in particular the 6 leaders who controlled the six macro-areas into which Australia was divided [ 23 ] .

In 1981 they were: Giuseppe Carbone for South Australia , Domenico Alvaro for New South Wales , Pasquale Alvaro for Canberra , Peter Callipari for Griffith , Pasquale Barbaro for Melbourne and Giuseppe Alvaro for Adelaide [23] .

The location in Stirling , near Perth in Western Australia is the only known location to emerge from the investigations of Operation Crime 2 in 2011 .

Germany
According to an investigation by Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk , after the Duisburg massacre in 2007 a Crime or Control Chamber was set up: a meeting of 9 people from prominent German clans almost all operating in the western and southern regions of Germany , and only one in the east in Erfurt . They would reunite in Duisburg [16] [24] . The tasks of the chamber would be the same as those of its peers: to resolve differences between the 'ndrine and guarantee compliance with the rules [16]. There would be up to 20 active clubs in the area, for a total of 1000 affiliates

Re: 2022-current mafia leaders ontario,canada. - 12/09/23 01:28 PM

a question? from one of the more recent tva articles or possibly journal de mtl there was a reference or mention of the toronto 'ndrangheta now composing 4 groups with 17 branches or sub-groups. the article also ref'd a group in thunder bay, ontario. curious to know then who are we dealing with. the same 4 as posted at start of this thread? have other groups moved into ontario or is it status quo? i also appreciated as well that there was no mention of 'ndrangheta being in ottawa and london ontario. it is true that those 2 cities did indeed once have 'ndrangheta influence they have not had this for along time. i wont restart the debate as to thunder bay i am convinced enough now from past discussions that it is possible a group operates up there with a different criminal or not function. money laundering, legit investment etc.

Re: 2022-current mafia leaders ontario,canada. - 12/09/23 07:23 PM

I can only assume the 4 groups refers to the Locali in Ontario and the 17 branches or sub groups are the Ndrine. There use to be other Locali like the Sant'Onofrio Gioiosa Ionica and Marina di Gioiosa Ionica Locali but the Sidernese expelled the others hence there only being 4 now. I think that isn't right though because there were said to be 4 Locali in the GTA from Siderno plus another in Thunder Bay from Siderno. Ottawa and London have been mentioned before but like you Vitocahill I don't know anything about any activity there.

That doesn't add up because by 1957 both Frank Costello and Albert Anastasia were out of the game. Frank Costello through forced retirement and Albert Anastasia through murder.

The Crimine was created by Antonio Macrì who may have been in contact with the Americans.

https://gangsterreport.com/when-cal...n-l-a-in-the-weeks-before-he-was-killed/

February 18, 2022 — The FBI and Royal Canadian Mounted Police are teaming up to explore the theory that slain reputed Hamilton mafiosi, Albert Iavarone, was inducted into the L.A. mob at the request of organized crime leaders in New York shortly prior to being murdered, according to multiple sources familiar with the joint-agency probe.

Iavarone was gunned down in his driveway on September 13, 2018 returning home to his wife and two kids after a night out with friends. The 50-year old real estate agent had no criminal record at the time of his death and lived in the swanky suburban Ancaster neighborhood. Per RCMP intelligence reports and travel records, Iavarone vacationed in Southern California with his family the week of the Labor Day holiday in America, just 10 days before his slaying.

Authorities link the Iavarone hit to the ongoing strife in the Canadian mafia, which began in Montreal in the late 2000s and reached the Hamilton area a decade later. Albert Iavarone and his older brother, Tony, both knew and associated with members of the Musitano crime family, according to RCMP investigative files. Hamilton mob-boss brothers Angelo (Big Ange) Musitano and Pasquale (Fat Pat) Musitano, were assassinated in 2017 and 2020, respectively

.

In the months following Iavarone’s murder, the FBI started to receive tips from informants in New York and California that Iavarone’s murder was, at least partially, related to New York City mafia powers getting him his button in L.A. so he could travel as a “representario,” liaisoning in the U.S. for an Ontario crime group. The arrangement the NYC mob made with reputed L.A. mafia don Tommy Gambino upset reputed Buffalo Godfather Joseph (Big Joe) Todaro, who allegedly oversees underworld activity in Western New York and whose Magaddino crime family has always been the American “La Cosa Nostra’s” conduit to Hamilton.

The Hamilton Spectator newspaper reported a “police agent” told RCMP that Iavarone was “straightened out” by an “L.A. crime family” in 2017 and that the situation angered Todaro. Gangster Report sources claim the timeline in the Spectator story is incorrect. Furthermore, they believe Todaro was not connected to the hit in any way.

Tommy Gambino, 58, is the son of Rosario Gambino of the Cherry Hill Gambinos, the New York crime family’s drug-heavy New Jersey crew. For the past ten years, Tommy Gambino has been the de-facto chief of what’s left of L.A.’s Dragna crime family, per sources in law enforcement. The elder Gambino was deported to Italy in 2009.
